Cedar Point bomb threat

I just heard on the news radio here in Columbus (610 WTVN-AM) that a Michigan man was arrested for a hoax involving a threat to "blow up" Cedar Point. This is about all they said on the radio, and I haven't been able to find anymore info. I'll keep looking...

Apparently, it was a little more than just a hoax...these wackos actually seemed serious about it.

Blowing up Cedar Point is certainly the best way I can think of to solve the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

that would definetly ruin my day

This world is a scary place. This was one place I felt safe...and free to relax. I hope that nothing happens... people shouldn't have to feel so afraid. God bless everyone!!! And may God bless those who do terrorist type of activities the most...they really need the help!!! Please don't freak me out people!!! I'm scared now.

I would like to say that being in an amusement park is one of the safest places to be. I will never fear going to an amusement park and having a terrorist commit an evil act. But, you can't rule out the possibility. Please keep in mind I would never do anything like this. If somebody has no regard for their own life they could put a bomb in their car and drive it straight into the front gate or have a bomb on them and blow themselves up on a ride. To think that there is absolutely no chance is nieve. But please don't keep a very, very, slim chance of injury at an amusement park keep you away.

One of the goals of terrorism is to create a lot of FUD – fear, uncertainty and doubt. Don’t let it get to you. I know that if you are scared that is easier said than done, but try, because to give in to FUD is a victory for the terrorists. They want to take away our way of life, don’t let them do it. Have faith that the security measures taken are well thought out and effective. In a way, every coaster ride you take, every baseball game you watch, every beer you drink laughing with friends is a victory for our side. Smile… and have fun!

It's very hard to drink all day...
Unless you start first thing in the morning.

Kinda funny this topic was brought up in the first place. Last Sunday I spent the day at my parent's house and showed them a video of Cedar Point from the previous day that I had taken of the kids and I. Halfway in the video...I had taped a man at the laser screen setting up the pyro stuff for the laser show. Right away my dad says "Laura, you could have something there... you could have been famous. If that guy were a terrorist, you'd have him on tape!" Kinda ironic my dad would say that, and then this topic decided to creep up on here!!! errrrrr....I hate coincendences sometimes!!!!

Keep up the words of faith... they are beginning to help me!!! I am sure I'll still go to CP... but with a little more caution in my stride from now on. Being a worry-wart doesn't help matters either!!! ::sigh::

No, it WAS a hoax - no group or plot ever existed. That's why the FBI arrested the phony "informant", and that's why he's in jail - for making this up and wasting their time ...

SFWOA already looks like it has been victimized by an attack.

But he WAS setting up for the show. That's his job. Same as every other year. Some people...

RIDE IT OUT!

I'm not worried about it in the least bit. I will still go to Cedar Point every week without any fear, believe me if you knew the amount of threats set in this world every day, Cedar Point is just a drop in the bucket compared to these. There is no reason to be worried, and if I did die at Cedar Point, it would be for the best.
::laugh:: I know Rider.... my dad is pretty silly like that!!!!
