Cedar Point App for wait times

I came across this tibit and thought I would pass it along. The ap is called called Coasterilla.

From trip advisor:

There's an app for the iPhone called "CP Ride Watch" that is free. It uses input from the people, similar to Gas Buddy. People enter the wait time, and the app will tell you when the last wait time was input. You are correct, even on week days, the wait for the most popular rides is about 1 hour. Millennium Force and Maverick are the top rides in the park, followed by Raptor and Gate Keeper (new) and Top Thrill Dragster.

I think the Ride Watch app is cool and hope they do it for other parks. There's an app call Coasterilla, but not many people are using it, so the wait times are not updated as much. But get the CP Ride Watch app and enter the wait times while in the park.

Just as a heads up Cedar Point Ride Watch has been removed from the App Store --

This occurs for many reasoning, including:
- Too many complaints are logged about a crashing app
- The developer withdraws it voluntarily
- Apple discovers there is any monetary transaction involved they have not approved
- Copyright laws are broken (i.e. this is protected info by CP and third party programs need to be approved by CP)

Lets see if it comes back.

^ Good. That thing was crap anyway. The general public is not a reliable source. Too many will lie about wait times just to mess with people.

If Cedar Point creates an app where park employees ONLY can update wait times for specific rides, it might work... even if the app mentioned which rides were currently running/down, that alone would be helpful.

Since I'm familiar with the park, I can usually guess how long the lines are just by looking at the queues. Utilizing the CP webcams can also help determine wait times for the day.

Just curious, how can you tell by the webcams.. Do you scan the parking lot to see how crowded it is? I do check out the live one to see how many people are walking down the Gemini midway..

Your best bet is probably to use the Dragster cam to see how full the parking lot is and then predict things from there. Or based on Dragster's line.

^ Right, the Dragster-parking lot cam will give you an idea on crowd levels... It's the perfect way to see if TTD is running as well. If you look at the webcam today, the lot is less than half full. I would expect wait times to be relatively short, maybe 30-45 minutes for TTD, MF, Maverick, and GateKeeper until later tonight. Expect no more than 15-30 min for Magnum, Raptor, Mantis, MS, BS, Gemini, and CCMR. Some will be walk on. Power Tower and other standard rides will be walk on. On a hot day like this (almost 100 degrees), the water rides will obviously be more crowded.

Of course, I'm not accounting for maintenance and weather related issues.

Using the various cams, if you look closely you can see which rides are running.

When it's hazy out it gets a little hard to tell how full the lot is for sure but I've been using that method to decide if it's a good evening to run the kids out for a few hours.

It would be nice if cedar point would have an app for rides wait time instead of guessing on how long the lines are so people can better plan on which ride to hit first with the shorter lines.
