The big new addition at Cedar Point in 1971 was the Frontier Trail. Scenes from the Main Midway are also included in this clip.

I never knew that there was a Frontier Trail sign near the Main crossing like the newer one that is currently by the Glass Blowing Shop.
Also, I like the carriages parked alongside Red Garter.
Really neat stuff. Thanks for posting this!

While that is true, this video predates my existence by two years. The kids in the video are my aunt and uncle. :)

Very cool! Thanks for sharing Walt!
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Looked like quite a windy day from the flags... and yet Sky Ride was running no problem.
Wonder what's changed? Then again they used to care about capacity too...smh
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
I wonder if the Sky Ride fall at 6 StL triggered a policy change? I remember Sky Rides were removed from both 6 StL and KC WOF after that.
Doesn't look much more than a normal summer breeze by those flags. What has normally changed policy over the years has just been a change in leadership. Cedar Fair has gotten in the habit of adding more steps than necessary to consider an operation safe.
