Cedar Point - First Trip

I am planning to go to Cedar Point for the first time on one of the last weekends in October... Does the park run at full speed? (with exception of water rides of course)  Is the last weekend usually the busiest in Oct?  Another option would be to hold off until May...and go during the week if that seems better... Any advice/tips get would be greatly appreciated....  PS: How is The Days Inn near the Park?

The last days Cedar Point is open usually are the busiest...I heard many people talking about how packed it was last year on closing weekend.

everything is running on Saturday and Sunday, but on Fridays, the Magnum Midway is shutdown.

In my opinion, since you are going to be going towards the end of October, I'd wait for next year's announcement. If it's a big deal and it's another coaster, I'd hold off for next year. Mays are can be pretty much dead, with no wait over 15-20 minutes...just don't go on opening day. :)

Yeah, waiting for next year is probably a good idea.  Avoid closing weekend, last year it was PACKED...

It all depends on weather (whether) it is snowing or not !!! The end of October is sometimes very cold in Ohio.

I may just have to try anyway.... been waiting too long as it is.... Hopefully a Friday and Saturday will be enough time to get a lot in.... (Besides.... the Plane Tix have already been purchased)  Since this will be my first trip there, I don't think I'll mind the crowds so much.... I'll just be happy to be there.... and maybe go back next year in May anyway.....  You guys are lucky living so close!!!!!

TheGreatLakeErieRoller made a good point... I forgot that closing weekend was so late this year, if the weather is less than favorable it will scare away most of the local crowd that flooded the park last year when there was great weather.
