Cedar Fair Maxx Pass Help

My Knotts Berry Farm pass just expired and I am planning a trip next week to get a new one. I just found out that I will be going to Cedar Point for 3 days in July or August so I am looking into getting a Maxx Pass.

My question is If I buy my Maxx Pass at Knotts can I add on the Joe Cool Club offer at Cedar Point or is that just for Cedar Point Pass holders? And If I wait and buy my Maxx Pass at Cedar Point is it good year round at Knotts or good for the Cedar Point season?

Joe Cool Club is only available if you get the pass at CP.

As for using it for a full year at Knott's, I will caution you that when I went there in January of this year, their admission people had no clue how to handle a Cedar Point season pass and it took me an hour to get into the park. Not saying this will still be an issue, but I figured I would caution you on that.

No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Hi everyone, I am new to posting on this board, although I have been following it now for a couple of years. Last August, I went to Knott's Berry Farm 3 times in a week. They didn't know how to handle my Cedar Point pass either, especially at the Knott's Soak City gate! They gave me comp tickets for the regular park, even after I explained to them that I was trying to go to Soak City. Of course, when I went to use the tickets to get in to Soak City, they didn't work. In addition to this, they also told me I was only allowed to go to either Knott's Berry Farm, or Soak City in a day...I was not "allowed" to go to both. I cannot remember what I had to say or do, but I think I remember asking to speak to someone in charge. This was not my first time to Knott's (I had been there in 2004), so I knew they were misinformed about what I was and was not "allowed" to do.

^ That's the thing that I hate about knott's. No matter who is running the gate's, no one knows how to handle a CP pass. When I went their they told me the pass did not work at Knott's parks. It took me 3 hours to find someone in charge, and even he took an hour to get me into the park. by the time I was on a ride half of my day was gone. I have gone their three times earlier this year and never had this kind of problem.

I went to Knotts in April of 2005 with my CP pass and I had no problems. The guest relations employees were really nice and I was in and out without a problem.

Your Cedar Point pass does not expire until (I believe) 3/31 of the next year. Even though CP is closed, the pass was still good until then. Now, with the Maxx Passes, this shouldn't be an issue.

As for the JC, that can only be added to a CP Maxx Pass. If you're coming here though, just stay on site. (Lighthouse Point comes highly recommended). You'll still get in early.

^You would think so, but the lady in charge at Knott's was convinced that the expiration date only applied to the park the pass was issued at. When I pointed out how Knott's is the only possible park it could apply to, she just gave me a blank stare. She eventually said that they only way we could get in would be to buy a ticket or prove that we had purchased 2007 Maxx Passes. So we had to call home and make someone find our certificates (which were bought on the preferred payment plan, so they weren't even paid for yet) and have our certificates faxed to Knott's. It was painfully annoying.

The last day of our trip out there we had nothing planned, and figured we would go back to Knott's. But after that fiasco we had, we decided to spend a second day at Magic Mountain instead, even though our hotel was less than a mile from Knott's.

The thing that annoyed me is that the lady in charge had no clue. What amused me was that she tried to call CP at 4:00 in the afternoon west coast time (7:00 at CP) on January 2nd, and couldn't understand why nobody was answering.

Wow, that sounds like a horror story Chris. They called Cedar Point and verified my pass each time, and made a photocopy the second time, but they didn't give me any hassle. I would have been super annoyed if I was you.

Believe me, I was super annoyed. We were only spending two hours at the park that evening, so the hour we wasted with admissions was half of our day there. After we faxed in the Maxx Passes and settled that, we told them we were coming back the following day, so the supervisor left a note with our names on it saying to let us in. Since the last day of the trip wasn't planned, and our note wouldn't have been at Knott's anymore, that's why we decided to go to Magic Mountain instead.

What got me was that I have the exact same job as these people when I work at CP. How sad is it that some supervisor at Knott's knew far less about the admissions process than some guy who works the job 6 weekends a year? It's not that hard to figure out what an expiration date means....
