SANDUSKY, Ohio, Dec. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Cedar Fair, L.P. (NYSE: FUN), a publicly traded partnership which owns and operates five amusement parks, today announced the re-election of eight directors plus the election of two additional members to its board of directors for the upcoming year.
Richard L. Kinzel, president and chief executive officer, explained that the shareholders of Cedar Fair Management Company, the General Partner of Cedar Fair, L.P., determined at the Company's regular annual meeting to increase the board's size from eight to ten.
"We are pleased to announce the addition of Michael D. Kwiatkowski and Bruce A. Jackson to our board of directors," said Kinzel. "Mike is a consultant in the food service industry and has over 30 years of management experience in amusement parks and branded restaurant operations. Bruce has been Cedar Fair's chief financial officer since he joined the Partnership in 1988 and has been heavily involved in our strategic planning and acquisition activities in the past few years. Both will add to the depth of industry experience on our board of directors."
In addition, Kinzel reported that the Partnership has declared a regular quarterly cash distribution of $0.3625 per limited partner unit, payable February 15, 2000, to holders of record January 5, 2000. This distribution continues the annualized distribution rate of $1.45 per unit.
Looking ahead to the 2000 season, Kinzel added that the record $110 million in capital improvements slated for the Partnership's five amusement parks are proceeding on schedule and on budget. "Construction of Cedar Point's Millennium Force, the world's tallest, fastest and steepest roller coaster, is coming along very well," said Kinzel.
