Cedar Fair CEO Dick Kinzel on NPR

Regarding Iron Dragon, my 7 year old daughter thinks it's the bee's knees. We had to ride it several times this year. Last year it was the Mine Ride. Next year, who knows? All these less thrilling rides have a place. Even Disaster Transport is fun. My only real issue with it is that it is too short and the 3D effects in the line are nauseating.

I would have to agree that Mean Streak is a true lemon. I try it almost every year and it never fails to disappoint.

how can you say meanstreak is a dissapointment, its one of the best rides in the park, and if you say its rough your wrong, there are many woodies that are far more worse than MS, and hey lets face it, its a wooden coaster its supposed to be rough, and if you cany hack it then dont even get in line, it makes it shorter for me,

woodies =roughness
steel=smooth

if a woodie was smooth, it woulndt be a woodie...

well put mr. streaker. ah, there's nothing like a front seat ride after a 10 minute wait! and telling annoying little tourist kids to ride toward the back pushing their bodies on the back of the seat, priceless! Cedar Point NEEDS a new woodie!

The very fact that the original design of Mean Streak called for a much better ride, and since it would have cost the park way too much money to maintain that paticular desgin, certain elements have since been added: trim brakes, etc. which makes for a very rough ride, rougher than it should be. I understand that a wooden coaster should be rough, but MS blows that out of the ball park...

I think MS is a great ride. Sure is very rough but that the fun part. For the trim-brake on first hill it really doesn't wreak the ride it's only 10-15mph difference. And of course there's always a coaster bigger or better somewhere else. For me it's the only woodie I've been on other than Blue Streak. Which don't compare. They're totally different experences.
