The only time I ride the Mine Ride is when the other COASTERS have a too LONG of a WAIT or if I will RIDE every COASTER on that Same Day. I have done that many times, and it is Fun to Ride on all of them; plus on "MF" 2 or more times.
In the mind of a 6 or 7 year old kid, it could be very thrilling and fun.
My 3 year old was bored on CCMR. Why would it be more fun for a 6 or 7 year old?
Why does it matter??? I only used "6 or 7" as an example.
5 years old, 6 years old, 7 years old....does everyone have the same thrill/fun factor, no.

Can someone please compare CCMR to Adventure Express at Kings Island? Thanks.
The one at KI is way better. Adventure Express was my first coaster ever when I was like maybe 3 years old and I loved it. I still love that ride. CCMR is just a waste. i know its a "good family coaster" but good Lord; a family could die of bordem on that ride. Famlies want more than that.
Let's Get Weird.
Look at that, I made it into the thread and didn't even have to do anything.
As for CCMR, I like it. I generally ride it once per trip. It sits on a nice looking piece of property. That being said, I will agree with Ben when he said that much more could have been done with it. Should we see the day where it is removed, I hope something similar would replace it.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I think its funny the people say Skyhawk did nothing for Frontiertown. My wait for CCMR was more than any other ride in the park last summer (except MF). I can't believe we actually waited for CCMR longer than we did for TTD. It was insane. I don't think its all that great of a ride. Its really jerky and my friend got hit in the face by a tree branch over by the second lift. We told the ride op when we got off and she just shrugged and went back to work.
The end circle thing (not sure of the technical name for it) is the best part of the ride for sure.
The 48" height really messes it up as a good starter coaster. It should be 46" with ID and DT. I know in the past it was 36", but there was an incident with a boy, but still - new restraints and 48" is a little over the top.

Speaking of Maverick... Will it have Fast Pass??
No, because Cedar Point has never had Fast Pass. They used to have Freeway Passes, but they were discontinued in 2005.

One more thing... Will it have on-ride-photo?
Yes.
And why was this posted in the Cedar Creek Mine Ride thread? http://www.pointbuzz.com/cpplace.aspx?mode=thread&TopicID=20193 *** Edited 2/15/2007 2:33:44 AM UTC by DBCP***

I remember CCMR was one my 1st real rollercoasters. I loved it back when I was 7 or 8-ish, and I believe thats why it wont be going anywhere. It is an old ride, but a ride that generations grew up on. Ya, anyone over 15 could fall asleep on it, as well I believe its on a lot of land it doesnt fully utilize. I wouldnt mind if they build off the origional design to make it more thrilling. Call it Super Mine Ride or somthing. lol
R.I.P. MrScott... You're greatly missed!!
Why does Cedar Creek Mine Ride need to be more thrilling? Cedar Point has over 10 roller coasters and a good selection of other thrill rides that are more thrilling.
Dont get me wrong, it was just a thought. I would be upset if they took it out completly.

Oh but doesnt it angle out slightly somewhere in the middle?;)
The end circle thing (not sure of the technical name for it) is the best part of the ride for sure.
The end circle thingy?? lol I think you mean to say the helix Tim, the helix.:)

I thought it was a helix, but I wasn't sure. I'm not the uber element geek. I just love coasters. :)
