Castaway Bay Rates

Have you seen the rates for Castaway Bay?! They are EXTREMELY reasonable!

http://castawaybay.cedarpoint.com/public/rates.cfm

It's like, comparable to twice the cost of a normal hotel room, but you get 4 people in the waterpark, as well as breakfast and a few other amenities!!! I am very pleased and surprised.

The apparently most expensive room, Seahorse Jacuzzi Suite Bayside, has two rooms, accomodates 6 people, and runs for $342. That's only $57 a person!! That is really not bad at all. Imagine splitting that between two families. . .two sets of parents with a kid each, so, that's only $171 per family. :) Haha, sorry, I just think that's a very good deal.

Plus, Cedar Fair has another one-up over Great Bear Lodge. I was wondering how much a night at GBL would cost, so I went to their website -- absolutely HORRIBLE! It was extremely difficult to find information I wanted, and I didn't even end up locating rates. Plus, there is this weird music that loads oddly as you browse. . .not very nice!

I am very excited to watch how Castaway Bay succeeds in the fall, I know it's gonna be great!! Now I just have to talk my parents into coming down and getting a room.

If you go to the reservations section on the GBL site, you can pull up rates for specific dates. It uses the same system as the Cedar Point Resorts/Castaway reservation sites. However, GBL rates are rather pricey, and most aren't as reasonable as Castaway Bay.

Color me surprised. I assumed they'd have rates comparable to GBL.

Edit: actually, I'm not so sure these rates are that different. They are a few bucks cheaper, but not much. For example, the low-end suite at GBL is $259---within 10% of the low-end rooms at the Radisson.

Yeah, Brian, you are right. I just checked CB rates again. I don't know why but I thought the low end suite at CB was around $200 when it is in fact $231. I guess my memory was a little fuzzy on that as it was a couple of days ago when I checked.

I was looking last week at CB and there are these Parrot rooms that they have that are only 93 bucks on some of the oddball dates in January 05'. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looked like it said these rooms were for up to 6 people and included 6 waterpark passes. Can someone verify this so I don't think I'm seeing things........thankx -Josh
