Castaway Bay deals this weekend (9/24)

Folks, if you're thinking about going to the opening weekend of Halloweekends, don't let the dodgy forecast put you off. Castaway Bay's standard rooms are down to $149, and you can get one with a water view for $179. A very good deal for a Saturday evening, and a gauranteed source of fun if the rain comes to pass!

-brian, who is looking forward to checking CB out...

I found many dates where you can get a room for 99.00 so we are going for a couple days in October while we are up their for HalloWeekends.

Does anyone know if their little watercoaster, as they call it, hurts as bad as the one at Kalahari?

No the Rendevous Run is comfortable and doesnt have a steel cage around it.

That is great to hear. I almost died on the one at Kalahari. Well, it felt like I was going to die anywho.

thanks!!

Just got back---fantastic weekend, and had a great time at CB. The waterpark is tons of fun (though not for hours on end---still a bit small for that), the public areas are excellently themed and decorated, there are a fair number of other scheduled activities (primarily for kids), and the shops/restaurants are reasonable (though not outstanding.) The rooms are in need of updating, but CF has already announced that that's in the works. After the rooms are renovated, this hotel is going to really fill the "true resort" niche that Cedar Point has left unfilled for so long.

As an aside, having three of these is starting to make for some reasonable price competition. This weekend, for example, Castaway was $150, Wolf was $175, and Kalahari was $200. I was just looking for a Saturday in early December, and Kalahari is $170, Castaway is $200, and Wolf is $225.
