Castaway Bay

Can y'all tell me some stuff about Castaway Bay?

Is it within walking distance to CP?

Is it a CP resort? (meaning you can get in early)

Is it worth the prices?

Nice hotel?

Walking, kind of.....it'd be a very long walk. But you take a car to CP from CB.

It's owned by CP but doesn’t offer early access (correct me if I'm wrong).

It's fun and all, but I would recommend looking for the lowest priced room that could fit how many ever people you’re taking. You can also just find the lowest priced room and make everybody else, who cant fit in the room, sleep in the car. :)

Yes, it's a nice hotel. *** Edited 6/21/2005 3:19:31 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

it is not walking distance for me, but many people can probably handle walking the causeway.

yes, you can get in an our early, but you have to ask for a pass at the check-in area.

the prices are definetly worth it. it has a nice waterpark, arcade, the entire first floor is nice.

the hotel is nice, but when you get into the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors it is very plane (like an average INN).

I've been seeing the Harbour Belle making runs up and down the channel that goes under the Causeway to Castaway Bay. I think they are probably running a shuttle service with the boat. Does anyone know for sure?

FYI, pedestrians are prohibited from walking the Causeway, so that is not an option.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I walked the 2nd 3rd AND 4th floors late at night when I went back in Feb. I felt like I was in the movie "The Shining". I peeked around every corner hoping not to find 2 girls standing at the end. I was also scared to take the elevators in fear of a large surge of flowing blood that would come out once the door opened :) lol

Omg. It sounds terrible. Is Breakers Express better? Does Breakers Express even have any kind of themeing?

TTD 120mph's avatar

The theme for CB is just limited to the 1st floor. And just because it's not entirely themed doesn’t make it terrible. It’s nice in its own way. Plus it must be pretty boring to have attracted thousands of people since it opened.:)

I stayed there last week. It is a very nice hotel, our room was great, on the second floor. Very nice indoor waterpark, with 3 restraunts, including TGI fridays, which has a huge deck on the bay where you can eat outside. It has a sweet shop, with Ice cream and homemade baked goods. You do get passes to get in early, but you have to drive to the park, it is at the very end of the causway. Our room had 2 sets of bunk beds in one room, with its own tv with nintendo, and a kingsize bed in the other room with another tv, also with nintendo. It had 2 closets, 1 walkin, and the shower and toilet were in a separate bathroom from the double sinks. You also get a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. All of there rooms have either a screened in patio or balcony. I highly recomend the place, especialy with bigger groups, we had 6.

First trip June 23rd

Sarmad - Walking the causeway is a no-no.

The Harbour Belle is making shuttle runs. I think it's a 30 minute trip.

It takes thirty minutes on the Harbour Belle?

It's not a speedboat... It's a nice leisurely ride.

If you stay at Castaway Bay you get to experience the "17th Coaster" of CP. The Master Blaster water coaster.

Yes I know it doesn't count.

I beleive the hotel is going through some redecoration and minor renovation of the remainder floors with new furniture and stuff. So maybe it won't have the eerie feeling at the end of it all.

Has anyone ever got the Castaway Bay package?

If you have, I want to know how it is.

Don't the curtosy vans take people from Breakers Express and CB to the gates? I've seen them alot by Soak City.

Nope. Unless something has changed, recently.
