With Kalahari getting a huge expansion and with Castaway Bay already struggling with the competition
What do you think Cedar Point should do with Castaway Bay?
Do you have some information to back that up? I don't doubt that kalahari is doing better, but I still like facts over the oh so "objective" statement "blowing it away".
Goodbye MrScott

Ok, so Castaway Bay's numbers are down this year after a very successful first year.
How does that show that Kalahari is "blowing it away"?
Secondly, didn't a Great Wolf Lodge open up late last year? Couldn't the fact that there is another player in the game ALSO have had an effect?
Goodbye MrScott

im not counting out Great Wolf but with the fact that Kalahari is leading right now and about to make an expansion to be the biggest indoor water park in the U.S. Than i would have to say that their buisness is affecting Castaway Bay more than Great Wolf is. That doesn't mean i was counting Great Wolf out but it is at the time behind Castaway bay so it is in third out of the three.

Haven't you already posted this once and had it deleted?
Actually I think this was deleted twice already. Once in the News forum and the other here but it was titled, "Castaway Bay '08".
I guess it's OK as long as you don't add numbers to the end of the title.

I was at Kalahari about two months ago and they had a big architectural drawing up of what the new expansion looks like. It's quite impressive, and Castaway Bay is going to have a tough time competing with it. I've never been to Castaway Bay, though, so I can't really compare the two from personal experience (never been to Great Wolf either).

As long as you get early entrance into CP, I will be staying at Castaway for our annual trip.
Castaway's rooms are a little dated, there is only so much they can do with the age of the hotel. But getting inot the park early is worth it.
And who would complain about lower attendence besides coporate? Enjoy it.
I like Kalahari but I hate paying $200 per night during off season. I stayed at Both and I liked Kalahari's Night Life but like Castaways Park!
RIP MR.SCOTT The ONLY MAYOR OF LIGHTHOUSE
Well i have been to both and I will say that the waterparks were similar buti would give it to Castaway. Kalaharis setup on the other hand was way better. The game room and the rooms are great and along with many differnt restraunts is what sets it apart. But now with kalahari getting the huge expansion It will have a better waterpark to. If Castaway Bay wants to have any sucess than I think that they need to bring more to the table Restraunts new rooms and an expansion to the waterpark.at this point all its go going is the waterpark and come Expansion time it won't even have that
If I'm not mistaken, Kinzel said he wanted to start marketing Castaway Bay as a "boutique" water park. Small, intimate, more luxurious, etc... I'd say they have to do some material and amenity upgrades if they want to be a "boutique", but that's a nice angle for them to take if they can pull it off.
