I remember a few years ago when we stayed at Breakers, all we did was go through the hotel entrance and start riding. I'm reading on the site that we need some kind of pass now? I dont quite understand the method of obtaining these passes, their cost, and when to get them. Someone Help!

If you're staying at one of the CP properties, you'll be given a resort card when you check in. There is no extra cost, it's part of your stay. You simply show this card along with your ticket to get into the park for early entry.
The main park gates will be opened at 9a. (this is assuming you are going before Halloweekends. (the opening time differs than) About 400 feet from the main gates, there is a second set of gates. Only Joe Cool Club members and Resort Guests (card required) are able to pass the second set of gates. From 9am till 10am only maxair, Skyhawk, Millie, and Mavi will be open at 9a. The rest of the park opens at 10a. Hope that helped. Feel free to correct me if I have faulted on any facts.
Peace, Mikey
I don't know I am from Philadelphia and only found this out this year. We checked in on the first day with our passes from Dorney Park and the girl told us sister park passes got early entry. I used it everyday. If you check in at guest services with your pass ask next time.

I believe the cards became necessary because so many people knew about the marina gate and just walked up from the parking lot when they were not staying at CP, just cheating to get in early.

Does breakers have cheaper 2 day tickets than regular entry? Heck the last time we stayed there was 04.

Yes, the resorts offer discounted tickets. I don't remember how much the discount is, but I think its in the neighborhood of 7-10 dollars.
