Can Demon Drop and Disaster Transport be torn out?

I'm not sure how people feel about these rides, but this would be a large area for the Boardwalk idea, or perhaps a new woodie.  Neither ride is very popular anymore.  I can't remember the last time that I went on Drop (because of Power Tower), and the only time that I go on Transport is to get out of the sun.  Most of the waiting areas in Transport are storage for Halloweekends, and it is depressing waiting in line compared to the way it used to be.  Anyway it is just a thought.

I understand what you are saying...But...I think they need to keep one indoor coaster for when it rains. I'm with you about Demon Drop, either replace it with a newer taller one or tear it down and put in a cool flat ride.
I love Demon Drop. It beats all the flat rides. I wouldn't care about DT, but I would hate it if the tore down DD.

One of the problems with that idea is all the games and offices located between the two. Include also the main employee parking lot/enterance. Too many problems with it.

And each ride is still popular to this day. So I highly doubt it.

Intamin 1st generation freefalls are my favorite flat ride, ever.  I actually like Demon Drop more than Power Tower.  Yes, Power Tower may be higher, but Demon Drop is SO much more intense.  I like the intense pullout before you even have time to catch your breath from the drop.  Like RG Rob said, it is still popular, so CP would doubtfully rip it out.

Same with DT.  In addition to being a nice air conditioned escape from mid-summer heat, the DT building also houses a haunted house when Halloweekends roll around.  I doubt CP would rip it out, especially since it would mean spending money to bring a popular ride (and the park's overall coaster count) down.  It just doesn't make any sense when they can put new rides in other places.

I don't see how they're not popular. On busy days, that is, most of the summer, they don't run with empty seats.

Why are people always so anxious to remove rides?

Because they are so anxious to get new ones, but they don't see that there are plenty of spots that don't require removing old ones.

I rode Deamon Drop for the first (and second) time this past summer, and I loved it.  I especially like how as soon as you get used to falling, you are on your back.  15 minute lines don't hurt either.

If removing them means better rides..or an actual woodie that rocks!  Im all for it! TIMBER!!!

So most of the waiting area in Disaster Transport is used for storage.....And if we get rid of that, we lose storage space, a great spot for a haunted house, and a darn good "family" ride. It is not meant to thrill all. The only reason I comment on this is because I will never forget the smile on my little sisters face when she got off DT for the first time. After Jr. Gemini and Woodstock, this is the next coaster for the young ones who are not tall enough or brave enough to ride the big ones.  That's what it is meant for. It targets all audiences, not just us enthusiasts. And as Rob said, there are many games and offices located there also, too many problems.

Jeff, we should TM  "Disaster Transport is not going anywhere",  just like "Cedar Point does not have a space problem"

I also know of many that like Demon Drop better than Power Tower because they both give different sensations, myself being one of them. There are also some that will ride PT, but not Demon Drop.

Just my 2 cents.

What a geat idea I also feel they should get rid of the Causeway cause it's old and boring too.In fact do you think they should allow old people into Cedar Point?
Yeah, my brother likes DD better than PT for some reason. I like them both, but the adrenaline I get from PT is much higher.
I still remember my first ride on Demon Drop the first year it opened.  And Disaster Transport was the first real rollercoaster that I rode with my son.  Too much history for me to just say tear them down.
I don't like the feel of free falling, so I wouldn't mind if they took out DD.  But I luv the Disastor Transport. When I went there last time this old man told me that it used to be outside.  I thought that was pretty col, but I like it inside.  I think they should keep it for many reasons.  Most of them you guys already named.  But my #1 reason is that I woud miss it. lol.  I luv that ride.

Cedar Point is the best. I will never stop loving it. You gotta, You wanna, You have to hold on...Cedar point hold on!!

DON'T remove it!  RELOCATE it!
Sure DT is good for days when it rains, but as I recall from the past few years it got shutdown during the rain due to the roof leaking and causing problems. But its still a good ride, no reason to kiss it goodbye yet.....

If you tear down DT, youd have to build another 46" ride cus that is what DT is. And the park should have an indoor ride. I admit they have let it go to **** but its still fun, and as an employee on that ride I think if they just fix it up some it would be as good as new.

They wont get rid of Avalanche errrrrrr Disaster transport, for one thing how many Bobsled coasters are there?  Another, the novelty of indoors is just too cool, 3 it would drop the coaster count, 4 they have plenty of room without getting rid of it, it doesn't really take up that much space.
They are actually planning on expanding the park out into the exsisting parking lot rather than tearing down the coasters they have. They are gonna build off point parking in the future and shuttle people back and forth. At least that was what i heard around the park while working there last year.
