Camping near Sandusky

Are there any inexpensive places to tent camp near Sandusky?

Try this Bayshore Estates Campground... My family and I stayed there 3 times last year. less than 2.5 minutes to drive to CP and has swimming pool to cool off after CP. Kids love that.

Here is an url - http://www.mhdcorp.com/bayshore.html for more information.

Bayshore is a nice place. It's right on Cleveland Road about a mile from the causeway.

Of course, if you want to do fake camping you can head up to Lighthouse Point... ;)

The only thing you need to know before you stay at Bayshore is that a train comes by every 10-15 minutes, ALL DAY LONG.

Camper Village at CP is the best place to camp, but you can't tent camp there. Fake camping at LP is even better, especially if you get a cabin on the Bay. I've never stayed in the other camps nearby, but those places tend to pack you in like sardines. You can hear your neighbor fart when the trains aren't running :). East Harbor State Park is ok and many of the sites are large enough and relatively private and no trains. The Marblehead lighthouse is nearby and there is lots of nature to enjoy. However, it is about a 20 minute drive to CP. Good luck and ENJOY!!

I hav enough farts of my own, CP-DAD, I don't need anymore.

I stayed at Bayshore estates campground. I was used to State park Campgrounds so it was wierd with the small place but it was good enough. The trains were annoying though. And planes from the airport down the road. I would recommend there if you have a tight budget.
