Camping
I am trying to help my friend plan a trip to the Point. She wants to camp using tents. Are there any good camp sites around the area, and or on Point (for Camper Village I was confused if you can use a tent or if it is just for RV’s) that are worth staying at and that are inexpensive?

Camper Villiage does not allow tent camping, it says right on their website. I know the topic of campgrounds in the area has come up on here several times before, so you might have some luck if you search around the forums here.

The closest off-Point campground is Bayshore which is off Cleveland Rd (Rt 6) east of the Cedar Point entrance. They do allow tent camping and I have never heard anything really bad about the place.
If it rained while you were tent camping at Cedar Point you would be better off just setting your tent up in the bay. That is likely where you would end up anyway. Thus, no tent camping on the peninsula.

The only negative to Bayshore is that there are train tracks right next to it. A train traveling down those tracks a 2 in the morning is more than a little annoying.
