Camper Village check in time

We will be arriving at camper village this weekend and I received my confirmation email from reservations yesterday confirming my dates of arrival and departure. On the email, it states that checkin time is 3pm. Has anyone got there earlier then that and been able to checkin? We would love to get there around 1 and get camp setup and have a little time to relax prior to going into the park Friday when early entry opens.

thanks!

Dan

It would depend on if your site is available. If you are coming in on Friday, it should be available since they are closed during the week. I have camped there this time of the year in the past, and they are not full. You should be able to get your spot.

Diane

We are arriving on Friday. our confirmation says 3pm, but I am wondering if we got there at 1pm, if the Camper Village office is open to check us in, or if we have to wait until 3pm.

They may not be open as the staff will not be in town yet. Your best bet is to call them and find out. They'll be able to give you a far more definitive answer than you'll find here.

Every time I have gotten there by noon and have always checked right in. There would be no reason not to let you check in early since they care closed during the week and don't have to worry about getting other people out.

If you get there early, don't plan on having a campfire, as they do not allow them:( Also, there are no bikes are rollerskates allowed eather. I wish I had known this before we went last time.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Was this during the regular season when the campground is open all week? or during the Halloweekends when the campground is closed during the week?

Well aware of this. Weh ave camped there before many times. We have even stayed during Halloweekends in the past but always got there late in the day because the kids are in school. Just happens this Friday, the kids don't have school so we can leave when we want to and get there early. i had thought they opened at 1pm, but got the confirmation email yesterday and it said 3pm. I wanted to have the campsite all setup by then...so I posted this thread hoing someone might know if there is anyone in the office earlier then 3pm.

Yes, fire, that's an important distinction, as John pointed out. There may not be staff on hand to get you checked in.

You never get over this do you?

We always stay the last weekend of the season and have gotten checked in as early as 12:00pm. The latest we ever have waited is 1:00pm. They make you park over by the boat docks.

Just telling him in case he did not know.

What's your problem?

Can't just go back to the lot at the campground? How do you know when you can go back to the campground? If they say to park in the lot by the marina, can't i just keep driving and go on back?

I suspect it has to do with whether anyone is working at the campground to check you in. If there's nobody back there checking people in, I can see a few reasons for why they wouldn't want people back there.

The parking attendant directs you where to park until they let you go back to the campground. Its not down by the marina but by the new set of docks they just installed. Once they open the Camper Village office, they will release you to drive around to the campground.

Got there at 1:30p and we were able to go on back and get checked in. Other then a strong cold wind right off the lake, we had a good time!

Am I missing something here?

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I was thinking the same thing Vince. As a camper village user, it gets better as the review goes on, and then POW with the Grand Canyon reference. Hope he made it back home ok. :-)
