Camper Village

I have a few questions about the camper Village.

1.) Do they allow campfires?

2.) How far away is it from the entrence to the park?

This is because me and my family and one of my friends are staying there from August 1-4. Any other information is greatly appreaciated (sp).

Thanks

Campfires are prohibited, and it's about a 5-7 minute walk to the Magnum entrance.

Camper Village is a GREAT place to stay! You will have a wonderfull time staying On Point. If you want to avoid the walk to the park, take the free shuttle service. The main pick up/drop off point is at the camp store.

You can have a fire, but not on the ground. Grill fires are OK.

MrScott, what about Lighthouse Point?!? Surely you can talk Grant into staying there. ;)

They share the same property. If you have a camper/RV, Camper Village is great. If you don't, there is Lighthouse Point.

Shows how much I know about the place. ;)
Maybe I'll actually stay on-Point one of these days and give Lighthouse Point a try.

Who wants to camp without a campfire? I don't remember it being this way years ago. If I rememebr correctly, we used to ride Magnum at night, and love smelling the campfires around the pretzel turn.

Those weren't campfires, just the charcoal grills that every campsite has. I don't think Camper Village ever allowed campfires.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I'm with Pete. The last time I camped there was in '89, and I don't recall any campfires then, nor did I notice any this spring while we were at LHP.

You can have a campfire in/on the grill. Kinda odd watching a fire at eye level, but if you must have one, you can.

We are staying at LHP next month. Do they sell charcoal and lighter fluid in the camp store? If not I can bring my own.

I believe they do, CP. If not, there is a Meijer nearby.

They do, but expect to pay dearly for it. You're better off getting some before you get to the point.

Yes, they sell it. Yes, it is cheaper to buy off Point.

I find the camp store to be very expensive, but you pay for convience, im kinda glad the camp store is there. I also will be at Lighthouse Point next month.

Since there's already a thread for camper village, I might as well ask my question in here.

My friends and I are staying at Lighthouse Point in August. Is it frowned upon if we use the "comfort stations" at Camper Village if we need to? I'm thinking showering might be an issue in the morning with so many people trying to use one bathroom. Do you need a card or something to get in the bathrooms?

We've never had an issue with showers in the morning and we've had close to 10 people in one cabin (never again, it was too cramped). Its just a matter of people being considerate. If everyone is going to take 15-20 minute showers, well then its a problem. If everyone takes quick 5-10 minute showers, it shouldn't be a problem.
