Hey everyone !
So Im planning a second Cedar Point trip this month and was wondering .. has anyone stayed at the Cabins at Camp Sandusky?? What are they like? AND are they close to the park? Thanks a lot!
Sasha
It is not a very long drive. Someone at the Camp will tell you how to get there. The park is much quieter than Camper Village. The Showers are a big room with divided showers. You have your own stall but the changing area is open. You need to take your own bedding. I do not know if they offer smoking or non-smoking cabins, but take air freshener. The have a pool, but it gets quite busy. You can build fires in the provided fire ring and they sell wood at the camp store.

What is interesting here is the map. NASA Plum Brook Station is bigger than the whole town of Sandusky.
Does anyone know what goes on at NASA Plumb Brook Station?
Alien autopsies? :)
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
We stayed there one year. The cabins are very basic. Pretty much studs and particle board hold the cabin together. I believe it is around 15 minutes from Cedar Point but I don't remember very well. I don't know exactly how much it costs but I would recommend looking into staying at Hotel Breakers Express. It probably isn't that much more expensive, and considering you are like 4 minutes away from CP and you get 1 hour early entry, it is worth some extra money imo.
EDIT: If you stay at Camp Sandusky be sure to bring some extention cords. They only have one outlet in the cabin and they overcharge for extention cords at the shop.

Four discount funday tickets to Cedar Point: $130.96
Overnight stay at Breakers Express: $70
Riding rides the size of skyscrapers while "legally" breaking the local speed limit: Priceless
They'd have to feed me breakfast in bed for me to pay 3 times more money to stay there than a mile outside the gate.
I'm glad that some people have cash to throw away.
EDIT: And let me build a ground fire too.
Stay at Bayshore Estates.

They have cabins and mini mobile homes there too.

Ride on, MrScott!
Bayshore Estates is very nice. We camped in a tent, and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The rates are reasonable and the bathrooms are very nice (clean). We will be going back Labor Day weekend and again closing weekend. We drove through Camp Sandusky and it felt very dirty and cramped compared to Bayshore Estates. I would definately recommend Bayshore to my family and friends.
