Cameras?

This is a really dumb question, but do you think it is worth taking a video camera to CP. I mean, it is worth putting it in lockers, taking it out, hauling it around. Or should I just leave it at home and just take a normal camera. I have absoutley great pics form last year from a disposable APS camera, and I want to take some great video, but should I?

its the ride, not the records

Disposable cameras do unbelievable justice. Really.

Rollerfan, are you staying on the point or is it just a one day thing. If you are staying on the point, what i usually do is ride in the morning then when it starts to get busy thats when i go to the room and get the video cam yes still photos are good but you cant beat video of the point lots of memories or its always nice to have a non rider but who wants to be a non rider lol you will want to bring your video trust me especially when its the off season and you are in withdrawal
I think it depends on the video camera you have. With technology now, a camcorder doesn't have to be that bulky. With my several-year-old-bulky-Hi8 camcorder, I'd keep it in the hotel room.

The new MiniDV camcorders fit in a fanny pack (no need for lockers). I take mine to the Point all the time. I've found that digital video is an excellent way to capture a lasting memory... Unfortunately, even the "bottom-line" cameras are a tad pricey...

Hey, I heard a rumor that Millenium Force is sinking...

Like I said...disposables do wonders. ;-) Enjoy your stay at the park without worrying about losing, breaking, etc. your expensive video camera. Lose a disposable...oh well. Get a new one. If you take a video camera, at least take a disposable as well.

I strongly suggest it, as a matter of fact, I'm going to do it this year!
It's a bit pricy to deal with the lockers, but when you're in one part of the CP area, you can record videos of say, Mantis, Millennium Force, Iron Dragon etc. all at once.

Then you can put it back in the locker.

Yeah, I took a disposable APS camera last year. I used the same cameras for when went to Washington D.C., SFWoA, New York, and professional photographers are asking me how I got such good pics, "I guess I have a natural thing for photo taking" I tell them. And I am getting rave reviews about my film taking too, so I guess I will take my video camera, and anyway, my friend has $70 editing software, so I could make a CP Video! And if you are interested in those pics, email me at CoasterFan14@hotmail.com

I am going to try to get some onride pics this year (illegal, I know), so email me if you want some of those too

P.S. I will also have pics from PKI, SFWoA, and Kennywood

Is it a hand held video camera? Because if it was then I would take it. Because if you are going to go to CP more than just once this summer, it realy wouldn't hurt to go through the trouble, because when all done you will have a great CP memory video that you can hopefully share with us GTTPers.
