Buy 1 Get 1 Starlight

Six Flags Great America throws out a buy one day pass get one free. Cedar Point retaliates with buy one starlight pass, get 1 free.

Uh, I'm pretty sure the two things are completely unrelated.

Both starlight passes and BOGOs are tried and true park discounts. In the current economy, it's hardly surprising that both chains would utilize them at the same time.

So does anyone have the scoop on why these got pulled so fast? Seemed like they lasted less than a day.

^This seems to be a reoccuring thing this season! Examples: Pointperks bring a friend day taken off the site and was replaced with the disclaimer of pointperks are subject to change without notice. Didn't they stop the drink wristbands too. And now they took B.O.G.O starlight tickets away!

their deals have such a short life on them that it is very hard to take advantage of them. But than again Six Flags was offering $10 tickets yesterday and due to the server load....no one even got any $10 tickets and the deal is rescheduled for another day. Thats right, $10 all day passes, i even feel like going there now....

It feels like they're having a hard time striking a balance between what deals they should offer, presumably based off attendance thus far in the season. Or maybe they are meant to be "buy now because quantities are limited" type deals. Hard to tell exactly what's going on.

I went to buy my "buy 1 get 1 starlight free" tickets yesterday, and was shocked they were removed already. I hope CP brings them back. Coupons for them are not in this year's fun guide either.
