I was wondering if anyone knew how busy it usually is the sunday before memorial day (this sunday). And also what about Sunday June 3rd? Thanks!
Ill make it easy:

Q. How crowded will the park be on <any given date>?
With thanks to Tim Walsh ...
No one knows what the crowd will be like on a specific day. However, there are some basic principles which can be used to pick the best day for your visit.
1. Start by checking the Cedar Point operating schedule. If the park closes at 8:00 p.m., it isn't because the midway is jammed with people. Fewer hours of operation means lower crowd levels.
2. The busiest time of the year is from July 4 through mid-August. Notice the longer hours of operation during this time.
3. Basically, all things being equal (i.e. dry weather), here is a breakdown of the busiest days, in order: Saturday, Wednesday/Monday/Friday/Thursday/Tuesday/Sunday. There are exceptions to this "rule" if it rains. If it rains on one day, the next dry day will see a bump in attendance.
4. This is a "tip" for people who plan a day trip and are trying to find a good time to go. Watch the weather forecast in the morning for Detroit and Cleveland. If it is raining and looks like it won't be an all day rain, go to the PARK. Don't waste time get there. Cedar Point will be "empty" that day. The two key markets for Cedar Point, Detroit and Cleveland, both being just a few hours or less away, are directly affected by the early morning weather in each city.
Hopefully you can make sense of this information and make and educated guess on the crowd level. Even if you go to Cedar Point during a busy time, the park is staffed to handle the crowd levels throughout that period. There have been a few blips to this "system" over the past few years. Closing Day in from a few years ago comes to mind. It was an incredibly nice day in October and everyone seemed to have the same idea of one last coaster ride. That just further proves that, even with the tips above, sometimes you just don't know what will happen. But, for the most part, this will help you.
Most of all remember: ANY DAY AT CEDAR POINT IS BETTER THAN BEING AT WORK.
(Inevitably, people want to know "how was it last year on <insert day here>." If you really must know, check out our extensive Trip Reports forum. You'll find reports and stories on past experiences for all times of the season. Just keep in mind that past experiences may not equal future ones!)
And from: http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/visit/tips.cfm
Cedar Point recommends visiting on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, when attendance is lower. Contrary to popular belief, holidays such as Memorial Day and Labor Day do not result in unusually large crowds. The months with the lowest attendance are May, June and September

I have an idea for an appropriate new PointBuzz shirt:
Front:

With the logo taking the place of the typed out "pointbuzz"
I would buy it!

I'd probably have to spend 15 bucks on it too. :)
eat. sleep. ride! - Coaster apparel and accessories!
Ride on, MrScott!
I'd probably edit one thing....put Cedar Point in place of "the park"
If I was being nitpicky. :)
Walt?

I'm in Tacoma this week on business, so I'm barely keeping up with the day-to-day stuff. The shirt idea seems promising, though. I'll look into it when I get back.
Woo-Hoo... I'm in for one! Heck, I'm even willing to help with the design. I love this kind of stuff!

I know this is a little off topic.. but I'm planning a trip on the 27th. I'm in Indiana - a 4 hour drive... and weather.com is calling for rain. Am I stupid for still wanting to go on a rainy day? (Of course I will be making another trip this summer to ride Maverick) Also, I was wondering what the gas prices are in the Sandusky area. Here in Indiana, it's up to $3.59!! :[ Thanks for any helpful advice!
What's life if you never get to the point?
It will stop raining at some point. (No pun intended) :)

Rain can be very good, keep the crowds away. But no, there is no way I can tell you what kind of crowds a rainy day at the end of May will bring. Just in case anybody was wondering...'cause somebody out there will ask. I'm sure. Hence the great idea of the shirts.
Thanks guys! Not too worried about the crowds.. I'm used to 'em. Rain or shine, nothing will keep me away!! ;)

I wasn't sure whether to put this here or in the gas price thread, but Toledo 11 News just did a story reporting that CP expects record crowds this Memorial Day weekend despite high gas prices. Interpret that however you want.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
