I've been to numerous water parks, local and most of CF's water parks. I have not however been to Soak City in about 12 years. This has never happened.
We returned Friday night from the park and had my girlfriend not been at the park with me, she would have thought I was cheating on her. My back has an extremely large bruise and several scratch marks. This pic was taken Friday night and its gotten worse. It does not feel uncomfortable, but its pretty gnarly looking.
If its gotten worse, odds are you have an infected cut and you should see a doctor.
What did you scratch your back on, the river, wave pool? Ive seen slides give people nasty bruises but usually not cuts, concrete can easily do that though.
My girlfriend is an MA, they are not infected. The small scratches have gone away, but the bruise got worse. I only rode the slides and we did a couple of laps around renegade river. I think it was one of the larger slides that caused this as was getting some serious air on a couple of those.
The speed slides are a little rough on your back between the air you can get and just the sliding itself, that's probably what did it.

Whoa...that ain't back hair. I will save you the details.
I have had problems with older slides and I think it is with regards to transition points between sections of tubing. I have to guess that the fiberglass will expand and contract with the temperature changes (freezings in Ohio) and that it would tend to "gap" those segment connection points.
The resulting "bump" as you cross those points can certainly do a little harm, particularly with the more sliding you do.

Thanks Your mom is too fat, when you grow up to be a man, you will have it too.
I thought it was from the gaps. The weird thing is I never felt it, when we got home and I took my shirt off, there was a sound of horror from my girl. I did not notice anyone else walking around with bruises or scratch marks.
At KI's water park back when it first opened, they had a very tall straight down drop slide. My brother rode it and I was too young. I remember him having red marks, but not bruises like I have.
