I was on the rollercoaster database website looking around. I searched for Cedar Point and found a ride that used to be there called Broadway Trip. I've never heard of that ride. What kind of ride was it?Where was it located inthe park?
Thanks,
Trent
If you follow the ride's lineage in the info section, you see pictures of it as it currently exists. It looks like it's part wild mouse, part dark ride now.
I have no idea if the ride experience was similar while at the Point, though.

It actually closed in 2003. It was rethemed in the early 90's according to rcdb. But if you look at the pic from when it was still Broadway Trip:

it does look like it was part dark-ride even then. It's kind of funny though, because so many history sections of Cedar Point sites don't include anything about it. It's history at Cedar Point seems rather vague.

Wow , Dresses, and slacks, Boy have times changed now all you see on the midway is a bunch of over fat bellies hanging outside of shirts that are too small in the first place.
Maybe Broadway Trip is a ride that the powers that be want to forget about for some reason.
Yep, times have changed in the way people dresses. It's gross seeing fat bellies over hanging out of shirts that are too small. Some people have no shame...I guess it's the 'everybody is beautiful in it's own way' mentality.

How ironic it is to me that you posted this. I also just found out about this ride like 2 days ago myself while on that site looking up old rides from CNE.

I was looking for some more info on the ride and I stumbled on this old PointBuzz thread:

The 2nd post is by CP Mac, who actually rode Broadway Trip, and gives a good description of it and insight as to why it was only at CP for a short time. *** Edited 8/3/2005 7:02:40 PM UTC by FrontierDale***

I think the ride was only here for one year in 1964. the ride debuted at the 1962 world's fair in Seattle. That fair looks to me as one of the coolest fairs we have ever had in America. The theme was geared to the space age and at the time anything spaced theme was cool and modern. The Space Needle is still the city's most recognizable landmarks. The midway was called "Gayway" which shows you have much times have changed. They had a lot of rides for a world's fair including a Calypso, wild mouse, and a strange looking ferris wheel.
If anyone wants to really read about the history of Cedar Point. Go to the Follett house in downtown Sandusky. They have a lot. The library has a lot too and has old Sandusky registers on microfilm.
