Breakers Express: YAY or nay?

I've stayed there 9 or 10 times in the last 3 years and it has always been a great place to stay.

I think they still have Krispy Kreems, orange juice, coffee, all for a price.

McDonalds is across one street and East of Chicago is across the other. East of Chicago has a pretty good buffet for a decent price if you decide to leave the park and go back to the hotel and get a shower or change of close or whatever. Beats the hell out of park food prices, atleast when you eat as much as I do.

They have a small game room, but no Golden Tee, so I don't go in there to know what all games there are.

They would only go up if they renovated them to make them worth the price.

If Breakers Express was inside Cedar Point, I would stay there everytime I visited...

Reguardless if the renovated or not, the prices WOULD go up if the hotel was inside the park.

Mr. Ninja: I aggree with you, the game room is not complete without a Golden Tee game! *** Edited 8/24/2004 12:42:51 AM UTC by crashoverride***

Thanks all. My parents dont believe me that we should park at the soak city lot to get to TTD and Magnum quicker.. is there something i can say to assure them that itll be alright? Also how are the starlight passes? We got the package deal and got two of these. I think the park closes at 8.
Breakers Express is a nice place to stay. It is clean and the rooms are nice. I agree that the bad thing is the outdoor pool, and the drive back and forth from the park. It is great to pay a little extra and stay at Hotel Breakers. After a long day in the park, it is nice to walk back to the room.

When entering the park on the causeway, go to the very leftmost toll-booth. It is the largest. The one that says RESORTS, SOAK CITY. Pay your $8.00. No one even asks you where you are going. Follow the road, and drive around the penninsula, a nice drive, with a great view, back to Soak City. If you are in that lot at 8:30-9:00am, you will be parking 1 or 2 rows from the sidewalk. From that point, it is maybe 100 yards total to the Magnum entrance gate of Cedar Point. When you go through that gate, you will go through a tunnel, and almost immediately pass by the Magnum Photo area. Follow the midway, and hang a left. You will be maybe 100 yards from the TTD entrance. Once again, that is a very public area. It is not a secret lot. It is not restricted. As long as Cedar Point is operating, the public is welcome to park there, no matter what their destination. You cannot park in the Hotel Breakers lot unless you are a guest, but you will not be going there. The Soak City lot is a public lot, and is open all hours that any other parking lot is open. When you go in that entrance, the number of people going in will be a small fraction of the number at the main gate. Take it from the voice of experience, and others on this forum, do yourself a favor, and park back by Soak City. If you are in doubt, contact Cedar Point and ask them. They will tell you the same thing. If you want to be at the Dragster early, park there. If you want to be first on Maggie, park there. If you want a short walk after a long day, park there. :)

Thanks
It's not a dump at all...the two times I've stayed there it was really clean. But I would definitely recommend Hotel breakers. I would have stayed there if they didnt screw up our reservation.
