Breakers Express Questions

I'm staying at BE during May. I wanted to know if the property has the following amenities: Coin Laundry, Pantry and in-room safe.

Also, I am planning to visit Niagara Falls while I'm there (its supposed to be like a 4.5 hour drive). Mapquest suggest taking Road 2, towards the east, however I am wondering how safe would it be to drive during the night. I've seen some other posts and I have my doubts.

What can you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

Rt. 2 East of Sandusky (and even a little bit to the west) is a 4 lane highway. So going to Niagara you should be fine. Its the stretch between Toledo and about 5 to 10 miles west of Sandusky where it is 2 lane road and somewhat unnerving/unsafe.

For the questions about BE, I'm not sure, but you can contact CP at cpresorts@cedarpoint.com. They are really good about replying promptly.

I have stayed at BE a few times and I don't recall a safe in the room. I believe they have coin laundry.

Thanks for your responses so far. I followed JuggaLotus advise and e-mailed CP's reservations this morning. I haven't got a reply from them yet, so if anyone else have the info. on BE, I'll sure appreciate it.

The rooms do not have safes. There is a safe at the front desk. If by pantry you mean in the room, there are no fridges/ pantry area in the rooms. Free coffee in the morning and you can buy donuts and there are vending machines. The map of rooms does not show a laundry, and I have not seen one when staying there. But there may be a laundry, just not sure.

As stated above, Rt 2 is only two lanes west of CP

Cheers

BE is fine. The two lanes of RT2 are not that dangerous if you are awake. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for all your answers. I confirmed that there is a coin laundry on-site and, like some of you said, there is no in-room safe, however there is one at the front desk. Reservations also told me that they don't have pantries, which is strange since most "value-based" properties have one. I guess that's no biggie, as long as I can get ice from the nearest gas station...

Also, thanks for your comments regarding Rt. 2. Since I will be using it towards the east of Sandusky, there will be no problem.

Regards.

MCCF, its not my being awake that I am worried about. Its the guy driving towards me that worries me.

Pfranco,

They have ice machines located all over the hotel.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

You don't need to worry about Route 2 being dangerous, you need to look out for all those crazy drivers in the world.

When the accident happened last year, someone pointed me at a stat that said, per-passenger-mile, Rt 2 was much more likely to lead to a serious accident than the turnpike. That was enough for me to spend the extra 5 minutes and $5.

Actually you get tickets when you check in to get a free donut or pastry as well as a drink. And they aren't just any donut, they are Krispy Kremes.

ew. too much sugar! I think I got burnt out on krispy kremes when my ex and I would drive an hour at 2 am to buy boxes of them.. Back when they weren't in every city. The good old days...
