I dont understand what your mad about Carpy. In my opinion I think that breakers express did a great job and controlled it very well. They did what they had to do,
The only reason why I dont think that they told anyone staying their what was going on, is due to the fact that they need to know exactly what happend before they start saying stuff that they don't know, That whole process could take 3 hours! Like many others have posted this can happen at any Hotel!!!

Same thing happened to me when I was in Pittsburgh.
I am never going back to Pittsburgh again!

Can you see One-Eyed-Willie from the top of Magnum?
We were at a hotel in Denver for a workshop in 2005. They had signs in the bathroom that informed guests of the need to shower with the bathroom door open. Otherwise, the steam would set off the fire alarm.
During the three day stay, there were at least three alarms caused by steam. Each time, the Denver fire department responded to investigate and reset the alarm. Amazingly, these shower-related alarms never happened in the morning. They always happened at 11 p.m. or midnight.
Well, we returned a few months ago for another workshop. And wouldn't you know it, nothing had changed. There were at least three more alarms. Guess what happens? People start to ignore them because they're always steam related (and always at night!). I don't know if we'll go back, but it sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. You'd think they could figure out a solution.
Yeah... a sprinkler system would be my first guess for a solution, combined with removing the smoke detectors from the bathrooms. Are those really necessary in a room with so few ignition sources?
Also, I know that certain cities/townships charge for "false" alarm responses. I hope for their sake the Denver FD doesn't.

I seem to remember a night several years ago when some kids started playing with the fire extinguishers in Fridays and tripped the alarms at 3am forcing an evacuation. They were caught and arrested that night. But since it was Halloweekends the hotel allowed everyone to checkout an hour late the next day.
