Breakers Express

Alright, I'm finally starting to get into planning my trip to the Point.

I was looking through the brochure you get in the mail, and there are things about each of Cedar Points hotels/resorts in there, and it seemed as though Breakers Express would be the cheapest, so I got online and looked up pricing, and one price I found for one night at the hotel is $126 a night.

Is that a good price? Too much? I'm not sure. It would really be nice to get that 1/2 hour early in the park. Help is appreciated! ;)

For the time of the season that you are going, yes.

101 on Magnum and counting...

I guess it depends. If you are willing to spend an extra $60 for an extra half hour in the park. More power to ya. I would just find an off site hotel myself for a lot less.

There are many good off site hotels for a lot cheaper, but if you need that extra half hour in the park the Breakers Express will be the cheapest. It gets down closer to $80 for Breakers Express in later August. Other off site hotels stick close to $80 too.

Breakers Express is off-site. There is no such thing as a hotel room in Sandusky for less than $100/night this time of year, on the weekend. Weekdays can be cheaper elsewhere. But if you've seen some of these low cost hotels in Sandusky, there are reasons beside early entry to stay somewhere nicer.

You didn't say when you were going. If it's not on the weekend, you can find some rooms starting around $65/night. Check hotels.com or travelocity.com. Just watch you don't end up in Bellevue or something, unless the long drive is worth saving a few bucks for you. If it's on the weekend, even the worst hotels in town will cost you around $100/night.

For me, it's hard to beat Breakers Express for off-peninsula lodging. It's nice, convenient, and the price is competitive over comparable hotels.

Don't get me started on if you want to stay On Point and can afford it...

Well as of right now, that price is for Wednesday the 26th. That might not be the exact date we're going, but thats what I was looking at. Possibley Wednesday and Thursday in the park.

I dont have to worry about staying at hotel because I live 30 minutes away but good luck finding the best price.

Well aren't you special!!!! haha, j/k

I'm seriously rethinkin satying at one of the parks hotels now! I did an Orbitz search for other hotesl in the area, and theres some for great prices right near the park.

That extra half an hour would have awesome, but maybe not completely worth it.

I really don't think it is. Its just me, but I've never found the half hour to be entirely helpful. So many other people are using it, sometimes you won't save that much time (especially if the CP hotel costs a lot extra).

Why not do one of the package deals? I'll be there Aug 30/31, staying at Breakers and my package was only $220.

The packages are a great deal. It's worth it to check them out.

Remember, with most cheap hotels, you get what you pay for. It's not always about extra ride time. Sometimes it's about not sleeping in a scary room. :)

But the package deals are only good in like August or something. None for right now....which is when we want to go!

Did you see how much Breakers was? I got a room for this Thursday night for on $140. Being on site is well worth the extra $20 over BE and Breakers has a nicer pool. By the way, anyone know how late the pool is open at Breakers? I would suck if it closed before the park closes

My experience at Breakers Express was pretty good, except we got a smoking room when we wanted non-smoking. It's a good thing we only stayed one night. If I could stay anywhere it would be Lighthouse Point.
