Breakers Expr. age limit?

Alright, me and 3 friends wanna stay at Breakers Express for 2 nights in June. I know it says clearly on their reservation page about being 21 or accompanied by an adult, but will they be ok with 18 as long as they have a credit card to charge for damages etc.? I find it funny that we can do anything but drink and get a hotel room at the age of 18. I think they're mainly worried about damage.

The short answer is you must be 21 to book a room.

If you're looking for a place to stay, I would reccomend the Best Western. I was able to book a room there a few years ago when I was only 19. However, you should check and make sure they haven't changed their policy.

Only 3 days till opening day!!

Thanks for the quick reply Draegs!! I should of used the search function. I found out from one of those threads that Best Western doesn't have the age 21 limit! Guess good old BE or Comfort Inn (2nd choice) won't be gettin our business...

MF&WTer, I've been 'carded' at Cedar Point Resorts before. They looked at the ID's of everyone in our party. I wouldn't risk it. Stick with Best Western.

The only thing about Best Western is that they require a safety deposit if there is ANYONE under the age of 18 (or it may be 21, I threw the paper out because my wife and I are both 26). They will book you a room, but they'll also cover themselves.

But then again, what do I know? *** Edited 5/21/2004 6:22:13 PM UTC by Shane Denmark***

last year at breakers they woudn't let me have a room even though i was about 1 month shy of my 21st birthday and had a credit card. they are very strict on their policy. of all the hotels i have stayed at around CP, no other place has ever asked if i was over the age of 21, they only wanted to know if i had a credit card

How old do you have to be to rent a room in Comfort Inn Cedar Point Maingate? I'm 19 now.

This seems to be brought up at least 2-3 times a year.
I used to have a list of Sandusky hotels that included the min age, but it went thru the wash in my jeans pocket. I know that a place called the Manor Motel is 18 and I know there are more, but I don't know which ones. If you are below the age limit, the adult has to be your legal guardian. It is not enough if a member of your party is over 21.
I stayed at the Mecca Motel last year. Their age limit is 18 and they're not too far from CP. Plus if you don't have a car they provide shuttle service to and from the park.
Okay, heres my expierience with under 21 hotels..

Currently I am 19 and in the Econo lodge on Milan, its $40. We stayed at the Howard Johnson on Milan the last 2 nights although I wouldnt recommend it but its $45. Last year the Quality Inn and Suites let us stay there and even the year before when I was 17. None of these places have ever asked for ID.

The Econo Lodge on Cleveland road was the only place that has ever turned me away for being under 21.

Im glad next year I dont have to worry about it because my fiancee will be 21!

Has anyone ever stayed at the Rivers Edge Hotel in Huron? It was only about 15 minutes away from the park and for the price (~$70), the hotel was definately nice and well worth it. They will also let you stay at 18, which was nice last year as we were all under 19.
Is that on route 6 off of Rye Beach road? If it is I'll check it out when I go up there again.

As Steve shorty about this...;) That ends Tuesday eh Steve?

Sparty On!

Does anyone know for sure if Comfort Inn we'll let you stay there if your under 21? I'm 19 now, and I've looked at their site but didnt find anything that said an age limit.
Why don't you give them a call Shawn Meyer? I'm sure the phone number can be found on their website. *** Edited 5/15/2004 4:38:40 AM UTC by MichiganWolverines***
I just looked up a page on www.choicehotels.com and here's what it said.

You must be 19 years of age or older to reserve and occupy a room. Some Choice hotels require you to be 21, you can find this information in the "Hotel Alert" section on the "Hotel Information" page within choicehotels.com.

I did find on the page of local hotels in that area and found out that Cedar Point Maingate says you must be occupied with an adult. The third one which is Comfort Inn Cedar Point which is located in Huron we'll let you in at that age of 19.

Just stay at the Best Western Cedar Point area. I've booked it for our group already (18 and under). They require a "security deposit" though. I'm sure if you just give them a credit card it'll be fine. Good luck :).
