What about last July 1, when the MF lift cable broke, and the people were stuck in excess of an hour? Free day passes?
Like Rob said, that happened in September. And, there were no guests on the train, only employees, so nothing of anything I would assume.

Florida may have Disney World and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

<rant>First off, *WE* do no break the ride. Most of the time it is computer related, but there are occasional things that happen (MF's cable, etc.) that happen. These can not be prevented and just happen at their own will. This being said, if you have a question, simply go to the ride host and ask if it is mechanical (I know with OUR ride we announce what has happened ie mechanical, electrical, etc etc) or if it's weather related. Ride hosts will be glad to tell you what's going on.
Secondly, MANY rides are VERY temprimental to high winds and / or rain. Wind is the BIGGEST problem for some rides. TTD as well as Raptor can not run after winds get to a certain extent. This is for a very good reason: So you, as a customer, do not get stuck where you can not be helped without a crane or someone climing huge lengths in the high winds and rain. Remember: Wind speed on ground and wind speed 400+ ft above ground are EXTREMELY different.
If a ride is "down due to mechanical reasons", ride ops do NOT know how long it will be, EVER EVER NEVER EVER. They tell us absolutely nothing, and I'm pretty sure they don't know how long it will be themselves. It's a very difficult thing to say something like 10 minutes. Even if a test run is going through the line, it doesn't mean the line is open again. It simply means they are making sure the problem(s) are fixed and are making sure it's not a multi-part problem that needs to be addressed right at that moment, or if the ride passes its own test flights and is good to go. Until the time the ride passes all checks on their lists of tests, they don't 'open' the ride. The ride does not 'open' until they call to the entrance and tell the entrance hosts that it's ok to open. Until this call comes through, it's closed. PERIOD.
With all this being said, going up to ride hosts and ranting and yelling at them for something they can't help is not fair... it's NEVER their decision to close a ride do to weather. Those decisions are ALWAYS made by supervision and are final. We don't keep rides closed 'just because' or becase we are 'understaffed' we are not ever really understaffed. If a ride needs another person they get one from somplace else (ie another ride), or sometimes another person is called in.
Keeping these things in mind can make your day more enjoyable for everybody. I know it's extremely frustrating to spend so much money and have things closed due to the weather, but if we could help the weather minus building a dome over the park, we'd do it. Unfortunately the weather will always remain a fickle thing, and nothing can be done about it.</rant>
but really anyone who gets mad at a ride op for a machine break down, should be beaten with a stick!
