Since I cant ride the MF anymore, I study pictures of it and watch the video alot. Even though I knew it was there before, i never paid close attetion to it. But it looks like there is a set of trim brakes going down the first hill. Is that what they are, or is it something else? If they are brakes and they use them ever, you can just call this ride the Mean Streak and run for the Magnum. This question was probably posted before, but I am too lazy to look back. If they are brakes, and they used them before, I am scared.
that is just the elevator lift going by as the train speeds down the hill

The way the train is set up, it's impossible for it to have trims under the train. That's the elevator lift, which hauls it up the lift.
ok, if there was a brake anywhere besides the end, how would trains make it comfortably around that final turn?
doubt if they could at all
so, theres no way its gonna be braked in my opinion
well, without changing the track

please ignore my many typos and grammar errors :)
????? It could easily make it through the last turn if it were braked. It may have a problem in the morning when it hasn't fully warmed up, but other than that it would be fine. In th eafternoon and at night, it FLIES through the whole course.
The catchwagon track extends well past the crest of the hill. Likewise, there is some service gear (stairways, ladders, etc.) extending past the peak of the hill as well, but not quite as far down as the end of the catchwagon track. I'm guessing the catchwagon track is what you're seeing...or if there is a train in the photo, you're seeing the catchwagon before it makes its return run down the hill.

I've wondered what that was. I've always assumed it was part of the anti-roll back because it goes all the way up the hill.
