Brackets on crossbeams?

I noticed on Friday night that there were brackets on each of the crossbeams of the tower structure, in the center. They face back toward Gemini, but are only on the beams that run perpendicular to the current Gemini midway. I could not locate any good photos to illustrate. I hope you know what I'm talking about. What are these things?

I heard from a friend that they are part of the launching system, and that he heard that from someone who saw a posting of Jeff's explaining that Xcelerator has the same thing. I am not sure if Jeff even posted anything like that. I also could not find the similar object on Xcelerator to verify that.

Please help...

I never said they had anything to do with Xcelerator. They're probably just for a ladder.

I figured you never said that, Jeff... I just had to clear the air... I think it is a good assumption that they would be for the ladder...
Probably circular stairs but the same concept.
Call me crazy but i am thinking that those braces will be for an elevator. That catwalks are going to be for maintnence(sp?) (if this ends up to be a top hat that would only make sense). There is a large odd shapped concrete platform/footer on the ground underneat those braces. You can see it well if you ride in the back seat of Magnum and look backwards as you go up the lift. like i said, my educated guess with input from a friend i was with, is that there is going to be a elevator there.
Just a thought, but don't those small supports with brackets seem a bit beefy to carry just stairs. Why use such a large support when only a smaller one is needed?

I'm as anxious for the layout as I am the use of the catwalks.

They line up with the footing under the middle of the tower. Probably for a ladder.

Probably for an elevator.

I'd hope so. It would take workers forever to climb over 300ft of stairs.
