Bosco pizza?

Does the park still serve bosco pizza at some of the restaurants? We went to the CP shores crystal rock café and the pizza is nasty, bland crust with barely any sauce, and "ok" cheese. Typical Cedar fair crap. (I miss Dollywood.......)

I hope the rest of the park's pizza was not this bad. I remember the wagon wheel inn served great pizza from bosco. The bosco sticks were also very good.

Well, everyone has different taste buds, but I had Bosco Sticks once and never again, I thought they were very dry and nasty. The pizza at Crystal Rock on the other hand was pretty good. To each their own.

I second Pete on this, bosco sitcks are horrible and in my opinion the wagons wheel had the worst food in the park (and that's no easy feat).

Hmmm... I always thought you put Bosco in milk! Seems like that would make lousy pizza!

I've actually been impressed with the food at Crystal Rock. They move you right through the line and the food has been tasty on the times I have been there. I haven't had the pizza yet so I cant comment on that.

Overall, very pleased with Crystal Rock and the overall atmosphere of Cedar Point Shores. There are a few items I think they missed on but overall, I really like the changes and improvements.

So no ones knows if Bosco pizza is still there?

^ I would have liked crystal rock's food better if they at least served me BBQ sauce with my pulled pork. They gave me basically water with some pieces of pork on my bun. maybe it was just a bad day for them.

The restaurants with amazing food are Famous Daves, panda express, anything serving bosco pizza, Johnny rockets, Frontier Inn, Fridays, and stands serving fresh-cut fries. Just for fun, My friend and I compared Johnny rockets burgers with the basic midway cedar fair burgers by taking pics and....... geez the difference!

May have been. I thought the pulled pork had good flavor. I think the BBQ sauce is just Kraft or something similar so its nothing like Famous Dave's but was good nonetheless.

The BBQ sauce is in the condiment stand under the shelter outside. They served my pork plain also, you have to put the sauce on yourself.

What is Bosco pizza?

Kevinj's avatar

I'm not sure, but it's every other Wednesday at my daughter' elementary, so...(and no, that's actually not sarcasm)

You can find it in the freezer section of pretty much any chain store here in North East Ohio, and it's really, really cheap....but, as Pete said, to each their own.

My daughter elects to pack her lunch on Bosco day.

^^Bosco is a very low cost, designed for high profit margin Tyson Food Services brand.

it's very good pizza that used to be served at the park. It's the same company that makes the Bosco sticks that are sold in the midways. (I've never tried the sticks though). Wagon wheel inn served it, hot with plenty of sauce, cheese, thick seasoned crust, nothing like that cold crap pizza served at crystal rock.

^^^^and DSShives, I have no idea what you were eating then. To each their own. :)

You might need to re-evaluate what "very good" and "amazing" means in terms of food. Panda Express is, in fact, awesome - but that's where I draw that line.

I agree, Panda Express is about the lone standout in the park that remains the same as out of park counterparts.
That's probably because Panda Express is a chain designed to utilize heat lamps and steam tables for very quick service, hence the Express in the name. Also the employees there tend to hustle faster do to the nature of the layout.

Other foods do not fair so well sitting under heat lamps for periods of time longer the usual five minute maximum. That's generally the main problem with CP food service is the ridiculously slow service causing food to hold out of limit.

Anyway, as I've said before, I hope this is an area that management puts its focus on sooner rather than later. Until then, trips into Sandusky are always fun and there are many great options in town.

I dunno, have you tried the Melt yet? Seemed just as awesome as the Melt near me (save a smaller menu). Heck, I even liked it better due to the inclusion of CP fresh cuts as the fries. Mmm, fresh cut fries. 89

According to a few recent posts about Melt, it seems to be having some of the typical CP problems as of late.
I'm from Wisconsin and I'm looking forward to trying a Melt from all the good things I've heard. I'm apprehensive about having CP Melt be my first one, I don't want our first impressions to be ruined, we re staying on point July 13-20 then going to Cleveland for the weekend. I will skip Melt in the park and try it in Cleveland for my first experience.

I will of course give the Melt in park a try after that in august.

^XS on your way into Cleveland hop off I-90 at Warren Rd. in Lakewood. That is the original Melt location.

There's no way I can wait to try Melt outside of CP. I'm a huge fan of grilled chee, and was super pumped to hear about this place coming. I totally get your point, but as a once a year CP visitor (so far), I gotta try it.

I usually don't worry about park food much though anyway, as we typically take lots of trips around the Sandusky area for food and stuff while staying at Cedar Point for a few days. Typically lunch / dinner trips outside the park happen, other than an obligatory meal at Bay Harbor to set the mood one evening.

Yes, I will 2nd that Lakewood Melt location, it is the best one, IMO. I did enjoy the Melt at CP however a few weeks back but the selection of popular sandwiches was missing at the CP location. IE: Godfather and Parmageddon. Back on subject, I haven't had the Crystal Rock pizza yet (plan to in a few weeks) but if you think that pizza's bad, try that pizza spot inside Castaway Bay down the street (Fat Daddy's?, dont quite remember the name of it). A few years back when we had it, my whole family thought it was inedible, just disgusting.
