Book of World Records ERRORS

Has anyone seen the 2001 edition of the Guiness book of World Records?

Under the most rides in one park is Cedar Point and they have three errors in this very small article.
-Blue Stack (Blue Streak)
-built in 1961 (1964)
-Woodcock Express (Woodstock Express) LOL

It seems that they would have had someone at least look over the book and notice this before it is actually published? Oh well!

I noticed those -- um, clever -- spelling errors when I glanced through -- a family park, are we? One ride is stacked and the other, well... *GRIN*

You're probably right, Jeff. I guess the monotony of compiling facts, and putting them into lists, causes a level of brain-rot, and "slipping one in" probably keeps a compiler sane.

OR---The person entering the text did nothing more than run it through spell-check.

Since "Stack", "1961", and "Woodcock" are legitimate words, they passed, even though they were wrong. That is one problem advanced technology has brought us---thinking spell-check is enough proofreading, and then not actually re-reading the text.
Well, woodstock is a bird and there is a bird called the American Woodcock. It is a shorebird that often inhabits forested areas along the eastern portion of North America. So time for everybody to get their minds out of the swamp :)

Maybe it was a commentary on the Blue Streak crew. ;)

Dangit, I don't think any of them post here, or else that would be fun.
