Over the past few weeks I've been to the park about 3 times, and I've noticed that while on the train and passing by Mantis, the house with the flames shooting out of the windows hasn't had its flames on. At first I assumed that it was just malfunctioning, but now, nearly a month later, it is still off. Is this just another "trim the fat" budget cut in the park? I mean, it really doesn't make any sense that you have a fire department firing water aimlessly into the air when there isn't a fire (even though it never hit the fire).

The new safety restrictions say that guests have to be at least 100 feet away from fire or they might get too warm.

I noticed this too, and unfortunately it does look a bit odd with them firing water over a fence and into a random area.

That scene was designed by the same Intamin engineers who thought it was a good idea to have a freely rotating dragster tire mock-up on TTD.

If this is true why does PKI's Italian Job Stunt Track still have fire? *** Edited 7/28/2006 7:06:39 PM UTC by TOPGUN1993***

I could've sworn I've seen the fire in the last month, but I could be wrong. I know it wasn't working when I was there last week. I heard some dad telling his kids to watch for the fire to come on, but it never came... Hopefully they'll get it working again and not just write it off.

Oh I'm sure they will take it away from there soon. I think the law affects one county at a time.

Maybe you are all just having bad luck. I rode the train Yesterday, Tuesday, Saturday, and last Wednesday, and all 4 of those days the fire was on.

I hope this isn't the first signs of Boneville's demise. It would be really sad to see another or Cedar Point's classic little themed areas gone.
I think there more theming coming back actually take the new signs for the new ride they put a western theme into place and along with skyhawks patriotic theme there moving slowley but sureley. But hey thats my opiniion and I will stop posting now

I was there last week and noticed that the fire began as the front of the train passed. I was in the first car and no flames, I was suprised and look backwards, and saw the flames begin. I think in the past the flames stayed lit constantly, but now it seems that the train passing triggers it. The timing does seem to be off though.
All of the displays are triggered by sensors along the track... And yes, a number of the timings are off. Some so much so that the the sensor is triggered again before the train completely passes.
