So, I was thinking -- I'm sure you all heard the gears grinding to a stop -- as I rode my bike to work...
Mr Ouimet has indicated all the Cedar Fair parks will get dark rides. Boneville has been a treasured part of the park for decades; so a Boneville-inspired dark ride would honor the park's history. Advances in technology would allow the addition of more 'active' skeletons. Such an attraction would be easily adaptable (Boneville vs Zombietown for Halloween?) and lends itself to interactive participation.
And then I thought: but then they'd probably remove those classic Boneville scenes from the train ride.
I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.
I can see that being a good concept for a ride in addition to the current Boneville.
Perhaps the area between Gemini and Mean Streak, where Boneville starts. Create some sort of dark ride that plays off of the train that's already there. Maybe a shoot-em-up dark ride where you have to save the train from Skeletons who are trying to rob it?
I like it.
It's unfortunate that Shoot the Rapids didn't work. But, that's not an indictment on flume rides. I think, with a vote, most fans would like to have a good, non-soaker, family flume ride in the park. And, since everyone seems to want a dark ride, my wish is that they put in a dark/flume ride similar to Pirates of the Caribbean at Disney. We can leave the theme of that ride to the experts.
