There are some sunken hazards in the areas between the causeway and the chausee. Most good charts would list these. This would be extremely important if you're mooring at Castaway Bay.
Actually, the route between the causeway bridge and Castaway Bay is pretty easy. It is very well marked with bouys to keep you in safe water. If you are going past Castaway Bay to TGIFriday's, stay close to the red bouys on the right until close to the TGIFriday's dock. There is a submerged object in the TGIFriday's basin if you get too far to the left.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Pete is correct, in that if you stay between the red and and green buoy's (closer to the red in the area Pete suggests) you would have few problems traversing the zone.
However I can speak that with the lake levels up, (here's hoping) there are many submerged objects close to the chausee side of the basin. I've picked them up on my Garmin sonar and gps. Most are simply marked hazzard - possibly rocks, or sections of floating docks that are sunk. I highly doubt they are that unexplored treasure of a '57 chevy or a sunken craft with gold and valuables for all you treasure hunters.
That paticular area is not suited for watersports activities although it is deceptively calm and quiet. That of course assuming you're using a craft with a decent draft and not a pontoon or flat bottom boat.

What sort of "object"? Just out of curiosity. A 747?
Probably an Airbus A320.
