Although we have not finished the 2012 season and folks have been very busy posting and plotting 2013, I wanted to share a couple of thoughts for 2014. In recognition and celebration of the Blue Streak's 50th (1964) it would be great if planning and design would focus on a remodel of that section of the park. This may allow more guests to visit the area, new ride/attraction moving forward. Again, not tying to rush the seasons, enjoy the rest of 2012 and celebrate upcoming news for 2013. Take a look around this area and share your thoughts.
That's a great idea! I think they should remove one of then Turnpike Cars to make room for a decent sized coaster. It would attract a lot more people to that area. But 2014 is far away.

I like the new paint and the white LED chaser lights. It totally refreshed the ride up. I just hate how that area is such a dead zone.
It's not exactly a dead zone, especially during the morings; Everytime I see the line for Blue Streak between 11am-12 noon, the lines are long.
To celebrate BS's 50th, I wish they would go back to the wider buzz bar trains and convert the breaking system back to original. Not gonna happen, but I can wish.

Just take the headrests and hard seats off of it. That would be a huge improvement. Switching out the lap bars would be even better, but as there is no mechanical, double locking version of the old handlebar available, I don't see that happening.

It would be great if they could remove the headrests and the seat divider. And go back to the single lap bar (with play in it), separate loading and unloading areas with manual brakes and the bell signaling that the train has made the turn. But they won't. Its still one of my favorite rides in the park though even as it is today. Rode it last night and do so pretty much every trip to the park.
That area of the park is ok but for the old pirate ride building. Not sure what they can do about that though.
^ Well I don't know if separate loading/unloading stations would be smart considering the issue with bags and belongings, as I doubt anyone would pay for a locker to ride Blue Streak, haha.
http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m112/Titandwedebil/BS.png picture outlines my idea on what they should do with the BS midway. The Red indicates the area a new walkway could be paved, and the blue indicates the path already there (that could be expanded, or just better advertised)
I don't think people who carry bags and belongings around the park all day that don't fit in their pockets should be able to Blue Streak. :)
I wish that you didn't have to go so far to enter the queue. Whenever I go I see tons of people looking all around, even trying to get in through the exit, because they can't find where to get in. But I think that in the next decade, this area of the park is going to see a lot of improvements and changes. If the employee housing gets removed, the perimeter road could get rerouted to go farther left of its current position around that area, and I could see a new midway connected Celebration Plaza to the Blue Streak Midway (not sure if it has an official name.) Then I could see one or two coasters, maybe more family ones, and a few flat rides going in along this new midway. I'd also like to see Turnpike cars removed to make more room. An antire new section of the park could be created and more people would ride Blue Streak. Aside from the boardwalk which will probably never happen, this is my latest wish for the park.

The only place perimeter road would be re-routed would be further down than that. There are parking lots and buildings there in the way of re-routing it anywhere around the Blue Streak area.
^I meant left of the area where the employee housing currently is, not right next to Blue Streak. Sorry about that.

I think they should add speakers in the ride's headrests and add flame throwers all over the ride. They can pipe in an awesome story line with music!
Regarding the entrance, if people can't see the sign by the station that says "entrance" and has arrows pointing to the left, then it's those people's fault they can't find it.
I could see that for sure, really make the area shine with some type of new dark ride or like others said too with a new ride in place of turnpike cars. I could definately and want to see this happen.
They really need to make it a great summer celebration because the Blue Streak is still one of the most fun coasters in the park and I mean that seriously. Good speed, great air time, and just a fun ride. I would ride Blue Streak anytime over Mean Streak, Iron Dragon, and the soon to be removed Disaster Transport
Wouldn't be nice if coasters like Magnum, Mean Streak, Blue Streak, Etc. had restraints like MF.

That way CP can piss off even more of the obese and growing American theme park guest.

I still say they need to remove the entire pirate ride location if they don't plan to use it. That thing is an absolute eye sore! Including Game Day Grille and relocate it within that area (preferable where Calypso currently stands). Also, relocate Park Services to the Spiral lot employee break area. That way, Blue Streak can have an incredible entrance that still utilizes the infield queues. It wouldn't be so hard to find, and instead of walking down what kind of resembles a sketchy alley to get to it.
