Demon Drop 2004
Castaway Bay Lifeguard 04-05
Blue Streak and Mean Streak both get significant amounts of retracking every off-season. It's part of the reason Cedar Point gets such consistent performance out of Blue Streak.

Blue Streak is still a damn good ride. It's been a while, but rode it during Halloweekends and we were flying all over the place and couldn't stop laughing. This ride is about all "air-time".
I won't get started on Mean Streak. I've seen the threads. I'll just say I wish retracking Mean Streak actually did something.

I have to disagree ^. I rode Mean Streak on closing weekend and it was the best ride I ever had on Mean Streak.
Blue Streak is always a great ride every time I ride it. The drops are awesome, it's really smooth especially for the coaster's age (that's what happens when you build a coaster correctly), and I love the fast turnaround.
I've dismissed Blue Streak for the past few years that I've gone to Cedar Point. In my mind, I didn't remember it as a great ride from when I was a kid.
This year, I went with a buddy who has never been to CP before, so we rode it...and I am so sorry that I have been skipping over it for so long! It may be my favorite wooden coaster in the park!

That's not too bold of a statement, yet I agree with you 100%.
Blue Streak is such a great coaster. It's a good coaster for younger riders, yet packs enough of a punch for riders that enjoy large coasters. The fact that it is 50 years old is amazing, but CP does take great care of it.

I'm sure Son of Beast is in there too :) But seriously guys, you need to give Mean Streak a break or maybe another chance. Like I said before, closing weekend was the best ride I have ever had on Mean Streak.
I also had a "best ride" on Mean Streak. It doesn't mean it was an enjoyable thrilling wooden coaster. Mediocre at best. Mean Streak either needs a real major re-tracking / modification or be removed from the park. Simple.
This year, I finally got a few full-darkness rides on Voyage, so tales of "best Mean Streak ride" hit my ears in the same way "best Busch Light I ever had" do. ;) There's just a ceiling on how good it can really be.
That said, Blue Steak holds its own against such competition. Not the very best by any reasonable stretch, but still in the "not to be missed" category.
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.
