Blue Streak at Cedar Point.. A really Great Ride.

We really dont give much thought to the Blue Streak the way we should. Its a REALLY good medium size rollercoaster. I really love it. It has good height, Length, and air time I ride it at least 5 or 6 times when I visit. This is a coaster that is underrated considering all the big coasters at Cedar Fairs properties accross the country. High Roller at Valley Fair Is just another example of a really good medium size coaster.I think that more coasters this size should be built. The Blue Streak ( which has the same name as Cedar Points rollercoaster),at Conneaut Lake Park In Meadville Pa. is another example. A great out and Back that everyone should exsperience in there life time. By the way the park is open for the 2009 season. Take a trip up to the park. You wont be disappointed. rc56

It's running great this year. I'm impressed.

It really is fun on the undersized 2nd hill. It really makes you feel like you are about to pop out of your seat. It would have been really scary with the buzz bar & no seatbelt. Comet at Hershey Park is a good medium sized coaster. I like Blue Streak because it is a fun and simple layout. It sorda like Magnum-xl-200. Simple layout and really fun. + good airtime on both! :)

RC56 - As far as I still know, Blue Streak at Conneaut is not operating with the rest of the park this year, so if you do go up, you will be disappointed.

CP's Blue Streak? Always a thumbs up from me. My first ride was in the summer of '66, I was in the 6th grade, and it was one of my first "big" coasters. My buddy talked me into it, it was the last ride of the day, it was dark, and we got the lucky front seat. After that I was hooked on airtime and coasters.

As far as medium woodies go, Blue Streak ranks amongst the greatest. Although I've never been on it, people on here liken it best to Yankee Cannonball at Canobie. High Roller and Comet are good examples, too, but I think CP's ride outshines them. We can also add Judge Roy Scream and Lake Winnie's Cannon Ball to the list of medium rides that are similar, but once again, not as good.

I have been riding Blue Streak since I was 6 years old. I consider it CPs "other stand up roller coaster". We used to hook our feet under the seat in front of us and stand the whole way. If you do it right you can still stand now.

Well I remember the days with the buzz bar with the seatbelt. Yes, it did seem like you were never in your seat after the first drop.

As Blue Streak still ranks as my favorite coaster overall.

None of the numbers for Blue Streak are impressive, except for maybe the age. Yet, when I ride it, the only word that comes to mind to describe it is "delightful."

It proves that records really don't mean that much- what matters is the ride.

Don't think I've ever had a bad ride on Blue Streak, always fun. I like how on the turn around, it feels like the trains want to ripe off the tracks. ;) Wild.

Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"

My home park is Kennywood, so it was always kind of a comfort to come to a park with another good classic woodie. It really is a great ride. I'd love to see the accident numbers between the old safety measures and the new. So much fun riding with just a thin seatbelt run out to the longest setting so you can get every bit of airtime there is.

Blue Streak was down twice this past Wednesday (which was odd to me...I thought it was one of the most reliable rides in the park). However, I agree with all that it was delivering amazing rides this year. I sat in the front seat, left my bar up an extra notch, and it was just a smooth, floaty ride that made me love wooden coasters all over again.

does anyone have any pictures of the new lighting on the "streak"

I think my username says it all for me. :)

Always has been in my top five rides in the park, and I don't think anything will change that. Working the ride in 2007 gave me a new appreciation for the ride, and I wouldn't trade that experience for the world. Having ridden Lake Winnie's Cannonball about four weeks ago, it doesn't come anywhere close to matching Blue Streak despite the similar statistics and less restrictive restraints (and it still uses skid brakes). I miss having the first ride of the day almost every day, front right...

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

CP's Blue Streak is a great ride, but Im sorry nothing on that ride compares to the airtime filled (every single hill you get a really good dose of it) return ride on the Yankee Cannonball. Blue Streak's air seems to be more on the out portion of the ride, with some of those hills on the back part too big to give you good airtime.

I hope you get kicked out of the park the next time you decide to stand up on a ride jackass.

Personally, I hope anyone who pulls such a stunt is marched out of the park and charged with a 4th degree misdemeanor under ORC 1711.553. And perhaps then lynched by a mob of rampaging enthusiasts who are still upset that Blue Streak had its train retrofitted in an effort to reduce such behavior.

No matter how many times you've done it in the past, it is still a dangerous stunt. The ride is not your friend, and it will not hesitate to spit you out and grind you up. For more details, you might want to check groups.google.com and see if you can figure out when...and why...my signature started to carry a safety message.

I have very little patience and virtually no respect for people who pull stupid ****.
