I have not been on in a while, so if there's another thread with the same topic please tell me so I can put my two cents in.(I have not been on in a while because High School takes a crapload of your time. Especially if you are involved in sports.) Anyway on with the topic.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the ride that started it all. Blue Streak. This ride is the only true woody in the entire park(unlike that deathtrap Mean Streak). I
Blue Streak is a very underrated coaster and in my opinion one of the best wooden coasters in the Midwest. Here is my question to all of you, what should Cedar Point do to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Blue Streak.
Mean Streak is not a 'true' wood coaster... why, exactly?
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
That was my question too. And deathtrap. Don't ever remember anyone trapped on the ride or dying. I think if they paint the structure white or blue it will be a true woodie. I love Blue Streak. Think it has gotten faster in the last few years. Also love Racers and Beast at KI. Wish they still ran the one backwards. I always went backwards. If it weren't for the Beast I'd say that Mean Streak is the best wooden coaster in the midwest. Beast is better though.
A redesigned walkway toward the entrance would look nice, and wouldn't have to include much. The dead end fence perpendicular to the dilapidated Pirate Ride building is somewhat drastic from the better landscaping jobs they've done over the past few years. As mentioned above, it's easily among the best coasters in the park, and Cedar Point takes commendable care of it.

I'd love for the trains to be returned to their proper state but since that won't happen I'll settle for some BlueStreak merchandise in the park. A little sprucing up in the general area would be nice not so much because anything looks old but because since they took out the the pirate ship and pond and the big old tree that used to be next to the station there's just a blank span of concrete there. It's like a parking lot with a few rides and benches around it.
If they had a Bluestreak snow globe like the other coasters I would have bought one by now. I'd like a 50th anniversary patch, too. I've got the 25th.
I think blue streak should get 50 birthday candles on each of its seats that would be humorous and quite cool.

I agree, Blue Streak is an under-rated coaster, it is one of the best rides in the park with great airtime and needs honored. But now the area is kind of like No-Man's Land stuck behind Raptor. It would be nice if they brought back an updated Pirate Ride with the pond, it would add so much to the atmosphere in that corner plus variety and naturally attract people to the other rides. They can find another place to store their stuff. They should think about involving Sandusky High School in the anniversary.
