Blue Shrink Wrap under Mantis

When I visited CP a couple of weeks ago, I noticed about 8 things covered in blue shrink wrap under the Mantis brake run. Does anyone know what this is? I am not trying to stop rumors about a new ride but was wondering what it is. Thanks in advance for the help.

It's the one Mantis train they aren't using this season. I guess they decided shrink wrap was the easiest way to store it.

...and it isn't shrink-wrap; just garden variety blue tarps.

it looks rubbery like shink wrap, its all streched
They really should use all three trains. Sometimes the line can be over 2 hours long. Usually because people get off of MF, and then go and ride Mantis. I'm sure it is the train, what else would it be?

We've been over this... three trains would not increase capacity.

No sir its shrink wrapped, just like boats get durring the winter. I worked that ride this year, I know.
My idea states that yes its the 3rd train all taken apart because think: 32 pasenger train seats 4 accross 8 cars long 4x8=32
i am a genious

LMAO CP bound... harsh, but true!

Those shrink wrapped things are a dissassembled train from Mantis. There used to be all 3 trains running. With the installation of seat belts it takes longer to load the trains and the 3rd train was no longer needed. An upside to this? They no-longer use the brakes on the first drop, they used to be used to slow the ride down, and give the train ahead more time to clear it's block.

Coasters? i thought those were those things you put under drinks? ...am I on the wrong site?

I hate to break it to ya, but Mantis's trims are still usually on (today as well).

The world I love, the trains I hop, to be part of the wave can't stop.

Trims are still on to make the ride smoother and limit the g's. The biggest advantage for having the 3rd train removed is the capacity still remains very close to what it would be if they were running 3 trains and the cost to maintain 2 trains is less. The biggest factor to having removed the 3rd is capicity not being an issue.

I have never ridden Mantis without the trims on, but I kinda like the trims because you get the hang time in the first loop.
