Looking at the dreary webcam pics today, I am reminded of some of those blustery days on the peninsula. While I know that the sand can be irritating to the guests waiting in line, I am curious to know how sand might affect the operation of the ride.
I don't know much about this ride system but could the sand, so close to the ride, be a problem?
You know, in all the years I've been going to CP, I've never been there on a day when sand was an issue. I've walked along the sidewalk from SandCastle Suites to Soak City during very windy conditions, but was never stung by sand.
At any rate, isn't the beach side protected by the wall of the control/electrical room?? If so, then the only damage I could see would be to the paint on the exposed portions of the lower supports.

I would truly hope that the folks that built this 9 million dollar investment, would take the sand into consideration before they placed it on the beach.
Regardless, I think the workers would be able to say whether it is truly a problem since they have been on the site for well over 4 months...

Fear the Mullet!
I wasn't trying to be critical. I was just curious. From appearances, it looks like the Magnum station is much higher off the ground and it isn't "on the beach" like WT is.
I wasn't even thinking about the paint so much as the brakes.
