Blood shed at challenge park...

On Saturday the 22nd..we were at CP...outside the arcade to the bathrooms was a huge trail of blood, with lots of cops and people filling out reports...later (about 20 mins later) we came back into the park there was another incident with cops and some younger boys sittin on the ground with cops and they were wearing medical gloves. Around 11:00pm they then roped off the area from the acrade to the water park so you couldnt even use the bathrooms back there..was wondering if anyone knew what had happened...at first we thought it was a fight and someone got there nose broke..but for one..there was way to much blood for a broken nose..and the cops there were a huge amount of cops...so if anyone knows what happen..please let me know...something tells me we can look foward to metal detectors next year!

Not that metal detectors would stop anything OUTSIDE the actualy park.. Lke the Challange Park area right?

Lets not start to panic. I think the country has done enough of that already.

Not to speculate on what does sound like a disturbing incident, but you'd be surprised at how much blood can result from a fistfight, even from relatively minor cuts - i.e. on the forehead/eyebrow area.  Having seen/intervened in countless scraps over the years, I can attest that you don't need weapons to have things get pretty ugly ...
But why would they block off the entire area so you couldnt go back there the rest of the night? To keep others from retailating?

Probably to get the blood cleaned up, disinfected, etc. That can actually take awhile, and you don't want anyone getting into it, what with all the blood-borne pathogens and so forth that public facilities need to be aware of and cautious about.

I was there, in line for VertiGo tickets.  We saw a CP officer yelling at a guy.  The lady in front of us said that that someone had been stabbed and to call an ambulance.  Within a minute, there was an ambulance there and numerous officers running to the scene.  That is when we left.  We went around Camper Village and walked all the way around Soak City. We were planning on going in over by Ocean Motion, but we saw that we could get in the back gate, so we just went in there. There were drips of blood on the ground as we passed the arcade. It was pretty scary.  When we left from the park later, the whole area from the tunnel under Magnum to right by the gate roped off. Thank God VertiGo was still opened or it would have been another year until I got to ride it!

I'm suprised... There was a HUGE presence of the CP Police yesterday. Guess that kind of thing just won't stop people.

It was a stabbing

Here's the real story:

Five people were arrested after an altercation took place at approx. 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night in Challenge Park.  During the altercation, a male, 23, received some lacerations and was taken to Firelands Community Hospital. The male was discharged on Sunday.  The extent of his injury is unknown.  The charges ranged from disorderly conduct to felonious assault and tampering with evidence. The victim will also be charged.

Read the Sandusky Register in the morning. You'll see the same info. It was six total, as I said, not four.

Follows what I said. He is in critical care as of right now. My mom took his x-rays.  Jeff knows from the paper, no by some unforseen force that tells him all....

The unseen force is the park. All I did was call them up and ask so as to not let this thread get out of hand. The park says he was released on Sunday.

Truly sad that such things will happen no matter where we are, be it our neighborhoods, amusement parks, schools, or wherever we once felt that we are all in some way friends.

I wasn't there that day but when I came back to work my next weekend our TL told me about it.  It is really sad.  I guess the whole thing was over one person accidentally bumping another person on the go karts.
