Blog - MIA??

Seems like there should have been a blog post hyping up opening day. Telling people about the events and how fun the year is going to be. I know there is something in the events calendar but why not give it some more excitement?

They've been pushing it on Facebook. With almost 750,000 fans, I'd say they're getting the word out.

Still, Shades has a point. You don't hype that the blog is back and then not update it for nearly a month.

A simple update with some pictures of rides testing and clever captions would have sufficed and not been particularly time-consuming.

If they can do it on Twitter & Facebook, why not for followers of the blog that don't use Twitter/FB? Especially after hyping that the blog was back... Maybe they should have held a sign that said "The blog is dead; check Facebook & Twitter."

What did people bitch about before the Internet, and where did they do the bitching?

While social media has gained a larger presence online, I think blogs are still very relevant and an excellent way to keep in touch and display much more in-depth content to followers. While Facebook has 750,000 followers, I can imagine the website gets tons of hits each day - also from folks who might not follow on fb or twitter.

I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more activity on the blog, even if it's just a picture or two of something going on in the park. There are plenty of things to cover, even if it's just a little bit to keep an active relationship with the park guests.

Perhaps you should ask yourself that question...

Update: Also, kudos to King's Island. Five years ago, I didn't visit this park. However, during the long off seasons, their website has become a great source of excitement over the last couple years.

They've given updates the whole off season, showing progress and changes in the park. They've provided excellent WindSeeker construction coverage, and they regularly answer questions from the public.

As a result, they've made me excited and are stealing my visits from Cedar Point, making more of an even divide between the two. Oh, and here's their website blog:

I'm hoping Cedar Point is in an intermission, as I just didn't feel that excitement this past off season.

New blog and good video of the preparations for opening day...

Excellent! Just what we were looking for. It touched on all the changes I was curious about, and now I'm ready to go.

Anyone notice the Pink's prices? They could've been worse. Are they in line with CP's regular hot dog prices?

Also, I wonder if Devarious was in that Corkscrew footage... ;)

I liked how they cut before and after on the MF paint job.

For those prices, at least let fries come with the damn hot dog so i can somewhat justify having to give my left arm to pay for it!

When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835

These are not normal hot dogs. They are meals on their own. Much better value that Subway.

Pink's hot dogs are very tasty, and yes, get a chili cheese dog and you feel like you have eaten an entire meal. I really like the chili, I might get a bowl of chili and some onion rings next time and skip the hot dog. The burgers look really good also. Pink's is a great addition to CP, it's the kind of franchise that brings a lot of character and a sense of something special to the park.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I am definitely going to eat at Pink's when I visit CP. Maybe Cedar Point has finally answered our wishes on selling us food worth the price that we have to pay.

I had a Cheeseburger yesterday from Pink's and it was very good. The burger was around 7 dollars but was pretty big, and had onions, pickles, mayo, mustard, tomatoes, ketchup, tomato and lettuce on it. I wish the burger came with fries, but I got a side order for around $3 and they were very tasty and large enough to share with two people.

I miss the old blog with Tony and Tyler. They were so much more exciting.
