black soot covered dragster track?

What is up with the soot covered track on dragster

Soot? Are you referring to the entire track, the launch track or the section of track near the engine room where the cables are fed into the track? Because I can't think of where there would be "soot". However, if you are referring to a black substance on the section of track by the engine room, then that's just residue from the cable as they travel at high speeds. The cables are oiled frequently and doused with water at every launch. So as they pass over the feeder wheels (as I call them) a black oily substance gets kicked up and sticks to the, normally, white section of track. It's nothing to be concerned about.

They usually power wash it at the end of beginning of the season. Though it never lasts more a few months till it needs another wash. lol

Isn't it the nylon from the catch car trough liner?

Adam sometimes bathes in it to help him feel "closer" to TTD.

:)

Promoter of fog.

^^You mean from the cables rubbing against the liner? Yea, I'm sure that plays a part as well. There's a lot of moving parts, I'm sure there's all kinds of stuff mixed in it.
