I noticed on Saturday that on the C set trims, they were only using what looked like 3 of the 6 (I believe) brake mechanisims, the last stretch to the station was pretty quick. I can't reacll if this is typical past practice or not. Both times that I have been to the point this summer, the braking has been very light or non existant either on the C set, or the pre-helix trims.
Now this may sound nuts, but on the red side, this was a definate plus, the helix was great, it was alot of fun. On the blue side however, the helix was really rough, much violent slamming back and forth
On another sort of strange note, we stopped on the lift for about a minute. No big deal, that is until the chain turned on again. Without warning (the ops said nothing over the PA on the lift), we received a huge jolt. I mean it is an Arrow ride and you should expect things like this, but the jolt was really harsh-it was if we went from 0 to full lift speed in an instant, no gradual acceleration. Even wierder, the ops did not know that we stopped on the lift when some kids asked why we stopped. When other riders on the train said that we stopped, they still did not believe it. Could there be a sensor problem?
Otherwise, the ops did a fantastic job operating all 6 trains. GREAT JOB!
