^^I respectfully disagree. Big Dipper has that great, curving lead-in to the first drop. It also features better air-time and great head-choppers under the bents with each bunny hill coming back. It also had those two nice pass-unders with the monorail. Not to mention that BD is much more historically significant than BS.
Don't get me wrong. I love Blue Streak. I love all classic woodies, and BS is a nice one. But it wouldn't make my top ten list of classic woodies.

Big Dipper would actually fit very nicely on the Frontier Trail, just next to Millennium Force's bunny hill, first drop, and first overbank. They probably wouldn't even need to modify or remove the pet farm.
Just throwing that out there :).

If the Geauga Lake property turns into retail instead of residential, the Big Dipper would make a very nice centerpiece to a retail development.
If the ride can be saved, that is really what I'd like to see happen. Sell individual ride tickets and allow the ride to run through the retail development as unique attraction. I would like to see the stations redone however, they look much too shed like now. The should be rebuilt to a more decorative, classic architecture.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I think saving the Dipper and charging a fee to ride it would be a great idea. Also maybe keeping a few rides between the coaster and the lake. Also keep the rides on the that are on the waterpark side already. You will still have plenty of room on the park side to use for other things. Think would be about the only way I would ever visit here and certainly would not want to come to the waterpark and seeing a boarded up decaying park just across the lake.

Awesome idea Pete! :)
For those of you who don't think that can be done have never been to Coney Island in Brooklyn and seen Cyclone. Cyclone sits on it's own street and is surrounded by a fence. They sell individual tickets to ride it. They have razzed Coney Island and will be building around it.
Cyclone is safe due to being protected as a landmark, why can't they do the same for Big Dipper?

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?
