Jeff this question is directed to you.
My cozen was with his grandparents in Ohio yesterday and he called me to tell me that the Big Dipper was being ether about to be destroyed or they are about to move it. He said there is a crain within feet of the coaster and a couple long flat bed trailers about a yard away. Is there any truth to this story or is he pulling my leg HARD!

What's a cozen?
I don't work out there anymore, I never see it up close.

The skyscraper is right there too. If there is a crane there, it could be for that. I'll also be there Saturday. If I can, I'll get some pictures.

The last article (about 2 weeks ago +/-) talking about the park being dismantled specifically stated that Cedar Fair has not given the buyers of any of the remaining rides a deadline for removal. That goes for Dipper, Sky Scrapper and Wolf Bobs. The Rip Cord might still be there too. There's not much else besides that left in the park that anyone bought at auction.

No, it was GL's Ripcord. You can clearly see what I believe to be Grizzly Falls in the background. Here's the link:

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but Villain has been torn down for some months now. A scrap dealer was the highest bidder.
It was a nice ride, at least from about 2000 - 2002, and again around 2006 - 2007. During the intervening years, it was nightmarishly painful.
Chris just slipped in ahead of me.

The Skyscraper is probably worth little more than scrap. I'm just guessing here...but I understand that the tower at Knott's Berry Farm has not operated in years. Well, in July of 2007, I rode Knott's tower, while the one at Geauga Lake stood idle. Coincidence?
Kind of like the way that for a couple of years there, if Wicked Twister was operating, then the holding brake on Steel Venom was not. Coincidence?

Ralph, apparently my comment was a too obscure reference to the website that has Chaos rides for sale. They used a picture of the one at Cedar Point even though that one is NOT for sale, which, of course, led to much speculation on this site as to whether it was actually for sale or not.
