Best Way To Go

Hey, i'm from good old Fort Wayne,IN and was wondering the best way to get to Cedar Point!! Should I just take 69 North to I-80 all the way in??
Take 24 to Napolean and then 6 all the way to CP. No tolls, shorter distance, and just as fast if not faster then 80/90. Early in the morning 24 would not be that bad and I wouldn't hessitate to take it.

80/90 goes way north before it goes back south. I take it but I live 15 miles from it North of Archbold. However at my girlfriends in Defiance, 6 is definitely the way to go. Although i cut cross lots on 281 which is a straight shot all the way to 6 West of Fremont.

we take that way very time and it save at least 20-30 minutess out of taking I-80 with toll roads which can be more expensiv than you think/

i think one time we paid like $17 on the way in and like $10 on the way out

That's what I normally do. On the way back though I'd recomment 80/90 to I69 though, simply because I don't feel safe driving on two lane roads like that at night. The interstate is WAY safer if you're tired or it's late. There's no double yellow for other people to cross.

Just made a trip from north of Indy the past 2 weekends. Took several different ways, and the quickest was the I-69 to 469 bypass to 24 to 6.

I would echo the part about the safest way back late at night probably being the 80/90 to 69 route. Took the 24/6 route in one a.m., but took back the 80/90 route late at night in the rain. There are quite a few winding stretches that are not all that great to those that are not familiar with the local roads. It wasn't even close on the time either. I even discounted the time you WILL slow down on the turnpike with the single lane construction.

I know both ways are pretty fast.........but I tried 24 to 6 and it was stop and go, and construction!! Is the construction done?? If it is i'll probably go that way, but mapquest said the I-80 is faster!! I'm Confused!! lol
I forgot to ask...is there a site or something that I can check out the construction on Ohio highways? Thanks!!
6 is construction free. 24 had a bit last summer around Antwerp.

Its a good 20-30 mins faster then 80/90 and a good 50 miles shorter. Mapquest is never that accurate when it comes to time.

Make sure you take 6 all the way thoguh downtown Sandusky and do not get on 2. Just follow the 6 signs right to Margaritaville and then follow the cp signs from there. You will come out on First Street right between the dorms and across from the employee lot. You save another 15 mins going that way as opposed to 250 which involves backtracking back west.

Just took the 24 to 6 route Sunday. Was a fairly smooth way. I have run the routes through my Streets & Trips 2003 as well as other routing software, and they give me the Toll Road route, but having just done both along with a few other hybrid trips the past 2 Sundays, I can defin. say the 24 to 6 route is the fastest.

Do heed the advice of taking 6 all the way in to the causeway road. You will end-up on the road that runs by the warehouses. I have stopped on this road before to take pictures of CP across the water. If you have a camera with some zoom, you can get some pretty decent pictures.

Thanks alot for all the info........looks like im gonna take 24 to 6.......thanks again!!

Somebody's ripping you off then. I drive the toll road all the way from this side of South Bend, Indiana to Exit 118 on the Ohio and I paid approximately $6.20 both toll roads combined. (One-way) We go every other weekend so I know the toll charges by heart.
